I used to idolize Cham and doc. You two have been the source of  all my inspiration in this area of study and its majorly disappointing to get this little bit of insight concerning your personalities.

Leave your pics up and nobody has a problem with you, that is selfish behavior. If you're scared don't post in the official thread, it's not that hard. You have never once on this board seen me chastise someone for deleting their own thread. Not once. This isn't your thread.

This is a forum for mushroom hunters.
Anyone is given a fair shot to join the club, input-- but save this kind of stuff.

Cham, for finds like this, are you physically picking up pinestraw to look under it or are these coming through the surface?

If the former, is it expected that they'll eventually poke through?

I think you've mentioned you look for raises in the pinestraw before, if you could get a picture of what that might look like before moving the straw itd be much appreciated by peasants like me.

It will just look like a lump in the pine straw.  Sometimes they might be breaking through the surface, but a lot of times they dont.  Just start lifting up lumps you see in the pine-straw and you might be surprised.  Sometimes it's other fungus, a lot of times its nothing, sometimes you get weilii.  It's easy to over complicate things before you make your first finds.  All you really need to do is invest a good bit of time in checking every where.  After you make some finds, it will start making sense.

Overcomplication is my middle name.  Thank you man.  I walk the dog about 1-2hrs daily around the same neighborhood(~1 square mile, Fulton county). Hiking preserves with him 1-2 times weekly (same 2-3 preserves).

Would you recommend looking in different general areas or sticking to what's convenient and changing my strategy?

What % of the time would you expect is average to move pinestraw and find nothing?

This is my last set of autistic questions. Thank you for your gracious time

dude... just get out and have fun and hunt. this is a hunting forum--- you guys are killing the journey here....

**** you can clearly observe that the people who have regular flourishing pathces (cham, bloddy, phish, doc, weiliiC, etc_) communicated with them---in footstep and in psyche---no one just got lucky, you can read years of postage. Ive been here over 12 years. It took me miles upon miles upon miles of walking counties staring down at my feet for days on end---- I dont get a lot of questions and cant send messages so its not that Im bombarded, but this forum is---and the questions get redundant!  These Weilii forums are handbooks guys, study and WALK

It sounds like you are on the right track, I would mix it up a bit though.  I have found them in neighborhoods, apartment complexes, business parks, sewer trails, and public parks.  I prefer to be away from nosy people so at some point I pretty much exclusively started hunting parks and sewer trails.  I have found them under pine straw before, but the places I tend to hunt nowadays aren't really landscaped in that way.  The times that I have found them under straw, I saw them in hear by grass first and then more heavily scoured the area lifting straw etc.  One of the best patches I ever found was all under kudzu.  I saw one or two in some nearby grass and started lifting up the kudzu and they were everywhere.  Typically if you find some obvious ones, there are more hiding near by.

I had a lot of good finds in Cherokee County last night. I'm doing a cold water extraction on 100g fresh caerulescens. First attempt but there was already some blue water this morning.
