How Do You Bring Alder Wood Chips To Field Capacity?
    #24019218 - 01/18/17 06:50 AM (7 years, 12 days ago)

The only info I found was pour boiling water on them and wait an hour how long do I drain them is this correct?

https://www.shroomery.org/10862/Noobies-Sawdust-Wood-Chip-Tek

also side question is using cloth pins enough to seal a myco bag? how do they usually seal? Can I use silicone self healing for my bags and pc them still?

Yes woodchips will soak warm water up better so pour boiling water on em and let em soak for a hr and then drain untill there are no more than a couple drops of water comming out the bottom when you shake the strainer

You want the bags air tight they are normally sealed with a vaccum sealer type seal though i dont know the specific name for it and im not sure if silicone will stick to the bags after drying you can toss a spot of silicone on it and let it dry and see if it comes off easy and if it sticks you can use it !
