I don't think cyanescens grow in your state. I don't know if you've came across this list before but these are the active species found in your state. Gymnopilus junonius Panaeolus cinctulus Psilocybe caerulipes Psilocybe ovoideocystidiata keep at it

I dont get why if ovoids can grow there cyans cant they are both wood loving cold species though it could have to do with there havent been any established patchs to get there spores out!

Interesting point...perhaps there is not enough rainfall in KY to support natural colonies.

I appreciate all the help guys. I can get shroom capsules quite easily but it would just be so much cooler and cheaper to find them myself. And being impatient doesnt help lol. But ill play it safe of course. Thanks again

Possibly if you cultivate a patch of cyans and plant them by a pond in some alder chips or somewhere with a little overflow water to give enough moisture to support a colony for a couple flushes they could spread i think of the dude who introduced ovoids to europe i cant remember his name right now but within 4 years they spread he found 6 new patches he didnt plant after 4 years of letting them spread naturally.

Cyans would grow there in colder areas that stay fairly consistent temp and wet at least with some good strings of 50s.. then hit the colder wetter areas.. spawn them where water might occasional flow over hulls if there's flooding every few years put them on a north facing hill.

Exactly what i wad thinking^ that would be perfect and who knows where they will spread given the right envitoment to fruit insects and so on will carry spores all over and who knows 5 years later there could be a several mile stretch of where cyans are found cause 1 badass planted a patch in a perfect spot.

Kentucky gets pretty rainy. I think it might be feasible, as long as they are shaded from the hot summers. After all, the PNW is a hotbed of cyanescens, and it cracks 90 every summer out there.

Very true i feel its feasible to do aslong as its shaded from the sun somewhere under a tree with fresh bark or under a bush like where they normally would grow in the pnw i feel aslong as the rain can support the colony it will be fine it just needs to be shaded fuck a overflow area woth nice mulch and bark shaded grass could probably be benificial
