That's a very sound arsenal you have there, I'm sure that variety of knowledge would help you to adapt to new challenges.

Programming has always been a hobby for me, I've never done it for work or money. Having no formal qualifications in the area I've just assumed nobody would hire me and never really pursued it as a career.

I haven't really messed with HTML since back in the Dreamweaver days. I do a bit of website building for friends and family but everything these days is just drag and drop editors.

Ive played with JavaScript and Python, mainly trying to make my own bots for games like RuneScape :tongue2:

SQL is another one I haven't touched in a good while. Probably due to my laziness around setting up connections etc. and instead storing data in text files or Excel spreadsheets rather than databases lol

But yeah C# is like a second language to me, I can sit there and write code like I'm writing a letter to somebody.

I'm assuming you use visual studio, have you ever played with Unity3D? It's basically a more 3D, video game / animation based environment but it's all C# code wise. I was so excited when I discovered it, thinking I'd be able to make awesome games or virtual reality environments.. but there is the whole other side of it with assets, 3d models, working in X Y Z environment opposed to just a 2D plane etc.

Same kind of thing when I discovered VBA for Microsoft excel, boy I went to town making all kinds of forms and GUI's and what not to automate the company's estimating processes, automated document creation tools etc.

I love it. The hardest part I find these days is coming up with the initial idea of what to create. Saying that, I have a folder with around 30 or so unfinished projects 😅

I think I have a good broad arsenal, yea.  I'm hoping to get a big salary at whatever job I get next.  Yea the company I interviewed for said they do use some drag n drop.
lol the ole Excel database, I love it.  I've done some ETL from SQL database into Excel, then I edit the data in Excel, then send it back to the database. Text document database sounds horrible, though.
C# is a great language.  It's so satisfying to write.
Nah I haven't used Unity, but I bet I would love it.  It'd be fun to make a lil game and use my own music I make with it.
Sounds like you should get into software engineering.  I bet it pays more than 3D stuff, but IDK, maybe not.

Hey that's pretty neat man, simple and quick signups process, not crowded with ads like most other sites. I wish my web skills were as vast as my desktop application skills, so many things I've made would be awesome on the web.

A few years ago I sort of slipped I to a CAD Draftsman role, making shop drawings for a sheet metal fabrication company. I've always had a bit of a drive to show off, so naturally my shop drawings evolved into full 3D rendered drawings so both the customer can see exactly what they were getting and the boys fabricating could understand and visualize what it was they were making. This became a big selling point for the company and brought in so many customers. Towards the end I went one step further and put scannable QR codes on the drawings that would take you to a 3D rendered 360° virtual reality environment. So many customers, even big builders were blown away.

But long story short dating the bosses daughter and working alongside her brother make everything a whole lot messier when the relationship doesn't work out...

I was on $48.50/hr salary, I'm not sure what a programming role pays these days.
