Before I go too into it is there anyone here with experience smoking it? It isn't so remarkable but it makes me not want to smoke anymore, similar to what salvia would do. I haven't used it as a tea yet to test its lucid dreaming properties.

I used to use mugwort for its lucid dreaming properties. It works very well. Mugwort tea Is very bitter, I used mugwort like sage. Burn some in the room you will be slumbering about 10 minutes before you go to bed. I also used to put fresh or dried mugwort in my pillow case. Just the smell of it is enough to give me very vivid dreams often leading into lucid dreams.
Good luck on your botanical adventure!!

I'll probably try some form of the tea tonight, finally, and am looking forward to it. I don't recommend smoking it unless you want to try to stop smoking. It isn't remarkable, it burns easily and the smoke is very harsh. After five or so bowls your appetite for smoking is gone, or at least that's how my experience was, so it's useful for that.
They say too much can be toxic but it's mainly a concern for other forms of administration. Apparently it binds to GABA receptors and inhibits them, and since GABA inhibits, this allows more action to occur. My experience hasn't really been like drinking alcohol, though. The active ingredient is present in some though, so I'm sure smoking would be quite different.
So my intention was to use it as a tea for the dreaming properties originally but I've been busy. I've used melatonin and it pretty much works. Looking forward to trying this and seeing how well it does.
I don't think smoking it before bed provides any lucid dreams...
