The first two episodes aired here in the US Sunday and Monday night. Apparently it has already aired in Italy (and maybe other places?)
It is pretty amazing from a technical standpoint. It stars Jude Law and is written and so far, directed by Paolo Sorrentino, who has gotten some acclaim for movies.
The costumes and the sets and the acting has been really excellent. It feels like you are in the Vatican. It is incredible.
The show appears to be a character study of a newly appointed, 47-year-old Pope Pious XIII.
Is anybody else watching this? I think it's going to be really good.

I'm not interested in the pope as a protagonist. They're a bunch of corrupt pedophiles and I hope their power crumbles from beneath the entire religion in my lifetime.

Other shows feature contracted killers, tyrants and meth dealers without being bad shows. This doesn't look like a happy pope story.

lol. Yeah, it isn't a happy pope story at all.
Kind of like House of Cards but weirder, because the papacy is very unusual.
Which is what makes it interesting. And the pope is definitely not a good guy. They haven't really touched on the pedophilia issue.
Anyway, check out his first public address. It's nuts.
