how much grain to use per container area, and at what depth
    #24016295 - 01/17/17 12:01 AM (7 years, 14 days ago)

Im just starting out with grains and i have some questions, as apparently grain/substrate ratios are allowed to vary since almost all yield is from the grain itself, bland substrates like straw and/or coir are essentially just filler, and manure to a lesser degree but still.

im currently trying to work out the dimensions of the container in which i will be putting my bulk sub, and am wondering if the grain concentration matters with container area and/or depth. Pretty much ill be making the grains with the intention of producing an exact quantity for what i need, since this grow will likely go beyond my means, and ill probably be giving a bit away.

Is it just going to be, make it at whichever concentration the tek recommends for the substrate im using then pour in whatever, or, does it simply not matter as long as i adhere to a rough rule and use something roughly tray shaped (like aluminum bbq cooking trays or food container/brick shaped stuff).

Im interested in how the grow can be changed depending on how i change the sub types, as well as the grain/sub ratio, even if i cant really meaningfully change it to my advantage, im still curious all the same.

If I understand what you're asking then..
It will colonize with say a 1:1 spawn ration the same no matter what size of container you use if that's what you're asking?
