Fruiting Chamber difficulty
    #24012433 - 01/15/17 03:26 PM (7 years, 15 days ago)

Hey everyone, I was just wondering if there is any other ways to drill holes into the tub without a drill because I don't have one, or if there's an easier design instead of RR's one?
If there are no alternatives I can just attempt to screw into the tub.

I found a place that does 7mm, that should be a somewhat decent alternative right?

if u have a pair of pilars and a 7mm bolt, u could heat the bolt up with a micro torch or propane torch while holding the bolt with pilars (so u dont burn yerself).

But i think its a lot easier with a glass bit and an electric drill. Way faster.

I know, i know.

Its important to state that u need a tool to hold the hot bolt. i know it sounds crazy, but bear with me here.

You've made an incredible discovery... don't touch hot things :,) But I will definitely try this method with the bolt and pliers, I was thinking if something similar but your way sounds easier. I have an electric hob so I will heat it up on that and see if it works. Will definitely start it when I start to see some colonization in my cakes!

My friend has an electrical soldering gun but it's completely fucked, you can feel the current run through the solder as you're melting it and if you just turn it on some ominous fumes come off it. I think i'll stick the what you said until I purchase more equipment.

A lot of fairly standard size phillips head screwdrivers would be near enough 1/4" diameter. If its not heated too much the handle should be OK.
