Possible Bay Area edibles?
    #24011193 - 01/15/17 01:09 AM (7 years, 16 days ago)

All of these were found in the East Bay.

Clitocybe nuda? Growing in disturbed areas near brush. Floral odor.

Lobster mushrooms? Growing in sorrel near dead logs

Yes on the Blewits, no on the Lobster mushroom.  Your second one looks more like a Lactarius perhaps.

Cool, thanks.  I find way more Blewits than not-Lobsters anyway.

The last two look like Lactarius rubidis (candy cap). If so the stem should break like chalk and when you cut a piece off the cap you should see a small amount of skim milk like latex that does not change color.

Given their size and stature I'd lean more towards Lactarius rufulus.  But still edible either way.  Check the latex color and give them a small nibble to see if they are spicy.
