In regards to pressure cooking: Agar work and petri plates

I'm about to do some agar work for the first time as it pertains to mushrooms. I'm planning on following the Agar as easy as 1-2-3 method as written by Munch. I bought some petri plates to pour the agar in. I won't be using gladware. I exercised my due diligence and know that I can't actually pressure cook these plates. So here's what I plan to do:
Prepare agar recipe as advertised Pour into half pint jar and load into the pressure cooker Pressure cook for 30 minutes at 15 psi Wipe down the petri plates with isopropyl while the cooker cools Pour agar into plates
First, does that sound right? My main concern is sterilizing the petri plates since they can't be pressure cooked... will the ispropyl be enough? And am I supposed to leave the mason lid loose in the pressure cooker, or should I screw her tight?

I would screw loose but not too loose... Idk never used a jar and then pouring will be a bitch if your gonna be cheap get a old small liquor bottle and put poly in the top and use that or if your gonna indulge get a pyrex media bottle
And do not wipe your dishes keep in packaging until sab time

You bought disposables right? They come sterilized. Don't touch them with anything and don't open them til they're in the SAB. Iso will sanitize but won't sterilize. Spores will survive iso
I second the Pyrex media bottle. It's only $15 or so and opens easily after being pressure cooked. Mason jars have a tendency to form a vacuum which can be troublesome.

I also support a media bottle. They're extremely easy to open/close sense u can use the original lid meant for the bottle ( with no filter). Also they're Pyrex so they can go from your pc straight to a ice bath to cool your media down before you pour it, WITHOUT any risk of the glass exploding or breaking.

So I just did most of the work, I just need to PC, everything is in the mason jar. For some reason the agar in the jar seems to be separating out, in that there is a lighter layer on the bottom (density difference). I mixed it thoroughly, I'm not sure if this is an issue
