Rotator cuff tears
    #24009763 - 01/14/17 12:54 PM (7 years, 16 days ago)

my shoulders are really bad right now. pretty damn sure it's the rotator cuffs. my left has seen better days, and my right is giving me a lot of pain. i do not have 100% range of motion and get weak when lifting above my head. feels like i need to stretch the area a lot.

both injuries have come from laying down on my side with my arm raised above my head, putting presure on the shoulder area, for long periods of time. it's been since october..... i should be good by now?

all i can really think to do is try to not use my arms as much, relax... blah blah. doesnt weed help a lot with sports injuries? i've slowed that down in the past couple of weeks.

ever had a tear there? how long did it take to heal?

if you had to have surgery.. how bad was the pain before you got the surgery done? what was your use like?

I recently had my right Labrum tear 60%. Had the surgury, and it's 100 times better. It will put you down around 8 weeks with rotator. But they will do a mri to figure out what is torn first. And the needle they put in your shoulder to inject dye is huge and awful. I would definitely look into it a fix the problem because it's will only get worse.

I'm pretty sure I tore my left rotator cuff after a motorbike accident about July last year. It hurt like fuck for a month or two, had no power to lift anything in my left arm.

Slowly but surely, it began to heal; although, if I sleep funny on that side, the ache and weakness sometimes comes back a little (has only happened a couple of times since). I'm hoping in the fullness of time that it fully heals, although a friend suggested to me that a tear there never fully heals.

I haven't really investigated it further - I've had some fucking nasty injuries in my time and they always seem to heal of their own accord eventually. So unless it starts to give me major shit at some point I'll likely just rely on the incredible powers of healing bestowed upon me by my human condition...

Let it be seen that you are nothing. And in knowing that you are nothing... there is nothing to lose, there is nothing to gain. What can happen to you? Something can happen to the body, but it will either heal or it won't. What's the big deal? Let life knock you to bits. Let life take you apart. Let life destroy you. It will only destroy what you are not.

The body will heal up to a point. Tears in ligaments are best fixed with surgery, especially grade three sprains and stuff as those cannot be healed by the body with complete tears. Also, i know my surgeon from when i had ins said that many people dont allow their injuries to heal properly in the first place. Many just start going back to what they were doing when they feel fine and its when healing is still kind of happening.

I also think that's what may be happening to me though. Any way, i really hope this is not permanent but ive had a hunch that this will indeed need surgery. For now, its painful to reach for my back, sleep normally, or do normal things
