Question about jars going funky

All my petri transfers are fine example, 100% success.
Where it all goes wrong is when I put a wedge to grain. I'm working with a hood and well versed on first air and how to work in front of one.
should I trash my cultures even though they look fine? Go with a spore syringe to rule out that factor? I'm using the same flaming technique as I do with my transfers and wiping my jars with 70%ISO.
Using oats with the usual prep and even pcing for over 120mins with qrt jars.
I've been leaving my wedges sitting on the very top and that's where the funk starts. Not really from the wedge but something is getting in when I'm putting my wedges in because it is always on top.
any suggestions?
edit. BTW I've tested my hood by holding petri facing it. I used 4 and split it into 4 quadrants and they're all still clear after a week so my hood in my opinion is not the problem.

don't think it's the oats and the bad jars have already been disposed of. It's something I'm doing different between opening a petri dish and opening a jar and I can't figure out wtf it is
edit. I've pc'd jars and let them sit for 2 weeks so it's not the filter or my sterilization

so I just discovered the top right quadrant of my hood is kinda fucked.
the petri I held in front to of it has what looks to be mycelium but is assuredly some form of presporelated white mold.
is there anything I can do to salvage my filter or will I be stuck having to buy a new one?

You may be able to seal it off with something like silicone. I doubt a small bad spot would cause every jar to contam. You sure your cutures are clean? You could make up a SAB to do a quick test. Or if you have a gas stove you can do some quick transfers near a lit burner to see if that helps.

my sab work is rusty at best.
it's a 24x24 hood so there's 6sq in he's that I don't trust. my hood has a metal grate on it that I'd be reluctant to try to pry/rip off

I don't see how I got a hole (s) there. wonder if it would degrade it if I hit it with 10% bleach just to make sure it's not just something growing get on the filter or grate I can see
