gorillas aint no matador, you are overestimating the agility of the gorilla and gorillas almost never use tools and there has never been evidence to suggest that they use weapons or could even understand the concept, even if this particular gorilla was trained by maori warriors or shaolin monks in the use of a spear that still doesnt make up for the fact that the gorilla is out muscled wont last more than a few seconds even if it runs

Nhobidy, I just found evidence. Just youtubed it, to find that chimps and gorillas use both tools and weapons. In the first video, skip to 1:20 to see a chimp use a stick as a weapon
The next video shows a gorilla using a stick as a tool
I can honestly envision a gorilla using a small log or big stick as a weapon.

I'd love to say the gorilla would win but all the bull needs is to connect once and that gorilla won't recover unless it gets lucky

Skip to :50 if you don't want to watch the whole short video to see the quickness and agility of a gorilla attacking. In the video you can also see their huge canine teeth.... Idk, I think it's easy to underestimate these 500 pound compact muscle machines.
I honestly would be pulling for the Gorilla.

If the bull has horns the gorilla grabs those and snaps the bulls neck.

Honestly, I think if a silverback got a hold of a bulls horns, it'd be over. You can generate a lot of control from securing an animal's or human's head

If it's in the Roman Coliseum, then by god the bull wins, for the glory of Rome.
I don't know though, bulls are gnarly, so are gorillas, has there ever been a meeting between a Cape Buffalo and a large primate of any sort while in the dark continent?

Seems to be a almost divided exactly down the middle. 47% say the gorilla, while 53% say the bull with one vote separating them.
I may try to fund this match somewhere overseas and stream it over the Internet

My Mexican coworker said the gorilla hands down cause he is more smart and can out maneuver the bull.
My thought is this. The bull charges full speed to gore. The gorilla sensing danger moves 5 feet to his left and is saved. The bull after running 200 yards full tilt realized he has missed his target and now comes to a screeching halt and has to turn around. The process is repeated numerous times until the bull now charging at 45% power is thanked my the gorilla who has found the spear left in the coliseum.
Winner: gorilla

It's the being alone element that changes things. Not sure at all how a Gorilla would react to being alone in an arena without other gorillas, whereas we know exactly what the bull is gonna do.
The Bull may get the Gorilla before he even knows what's going on if he's never encountered a Bull before. However, if the Gorilla has spent any time around bulls at all, he would have a huge advantage.
If the gorilla is seeing a bull for the very first time ... I'd bet heavily on the bull.
-------------------- "The universe is endless, limitless and infinite. Any effort to define it's boundaries is an attempt to overcome ignorance. We are physical, mental and spiritual beings ... there is no beginning and there is no end. There is only memory. Our repeated loss of memory experiences create the illusion of beginnings and ends. Immortality is the ability to retain full memory through all consciousness transformations. Loss of memory is man's greatest curse and, in very real terms, death." -- Ancient Taoist Master
