Can anyone positively ID these? Today was my first hunt, and I don't want to die. THANKS!

These were found near dung in a cow field located in central Florida on 01/13/17. The spore print is dark, and they appear to be bruising blue. I think they're okay, but I know there are look-a-likes... so, I just want to make sure. Are these safe to eat?

Looks like a Copelandia species (active). Make sure they are all the same though, it's hard to tell with all those smashed up stems in the first photo.

How about these? I tried to take better care of them this time so you could get a better look.

I'm not sure about those specimens with the thick stems and veil remnants.
If you want to be safe just consume specimens that you can see the blue bruising on. There is certainly nothing poisonous in your photos.

The bigger ones with the ring look like cubensis, the rest are panaeolus, mostly an active variety, but perhaps some antillarum thrown in (bigger, no blue staining) which is not active.

I agree.. if I had that in front of me I wouldn't keep the bigger brighter one with the split cap, the top right (Lacterius) one that isn't a Pan, the far right one in between the 3 blue ones, brighter and pock marked.. the stem butt is rounded off too? Not a psilo or a pan. Right?

When you say stuff like "so I don't die" and "I don't want to die" it makes peeps thing you are just skipping through the forest eating whatever fungus you happen upon.
Find your area here: https://www.shroomery.org/12257/North-America Then research the more common species here if you are looking for actives: https://www.shroomery.org/12230/Psilocybin-Species
Suggest getting the book Mushrooms Demystified by Arora and maybe the standard Audubon Field guide. Not that it's required but I did all the reading mentioned above and read every single post with terms of the two Southern CA counties/cities closest to me.
Do some reading and stay safe. As someone says on here regularly: All mushrooms are edible at least once!

So, from what I've gathered, all of the specimens in the first picture (below) are psychoactive and safe for consumption. And, all of the specimens in second photo (below) are in doubt, and should be thrown out. Is this correct?

ORIGYN -- I have read a few books, and done lots of research on this site & others. I've tried to do my due diligence as best I could. But, the truth is... I am still a complete novice when comes to picking & identifying mushrooms. I am certainly no expert. As much as I enjoy tripping on shrooms, I know gathering from the wild can be a very risky business. But still, I had to start somewhere. And at this point, I felt like the wisest thing I could do is rely solely on other people with far more knowledge than me. Like I said, this was my first hunt. And TBH, even if I was a seasoned vet, I'd still probably want a second opinion. After all, it is literally a matter of life or death. But, I do appreciate your concern & suggestions. And, thanks for the links as well. PEACE!

Please don't die! BTW, please wait for a TI, but your last photo looks to have some cubes in it.

Never mind, it just occurred to me what TI means... TRUSTED IDENTIFIER... will do. I thought those looked like cubes, and they seem to have some blue bruising on the stems. I've only dealt why dried specimens in the past... never fresh. Speaking of which. Is it better to eat them while they're still fresh or should I dry them out? If so, how long should I let them cure, and is there any risk of mold contamination during this process... are there any specific conditions I should place them in while they're drying out?

Here are some more I found this morning. I'm pretty sure everything in the first photo is more pans. Correct? But, I need some help with the second photo for sure. Thanks to everyone that's giving me feedback... it's greatly appreciated!

Cool this thread is turning better than I hoped. Welcome and I appreciate your willingness to learn. Now time for a trip I see. Some people like them better fresh more potent. You tend to lose a little potency in drying. I don't pick from manure; but if I did, I'd make a tea to possibly kill off any possible bad bacteria. Some will prolly argue that.
I'd quit this horribly addictive hobby before all you can think of is mushrooms.

I'll tell you what, this website is an INVALUABLE resource. The members are exceptional. Thank you all so much.
So, are the copes that I found the notorious "blue meanies" that I've heard about? If so, how much should I take (dried)... half a gram or so? And, should I worry at all about bacteria from the cow dung they were found growing in? Should I wash them before I eat them. If so, is there a specific way that I should wash them off?

I know this is off subject, but I have been reading this thread since my last post. To say that this thread has been intriguing... would be an understatement. I thoroughly enjoyed this entire post, and highly recommend it to everyone who hasn't already read it.

Also, my favorite thing to do while tripping is watch clouds and listen music. So, anytime I discover new music... I'm glad. While reading the "thumbprint" thread, someone mentioned the following music... so, I couldn't help but check it out. It's different for sure... not my usual cup of tea... but definitely worth passing along. PEACE!
