No? My view fully recognizes the capacity for humans to change over time, and that there is no real black or white as each end of either given spectrum holds a gradient to it. The typical character does not dramatically jump around the general classifications though -- jumping around alignment tendencies dramatically is the realm of the Chaotic Neutral person.
Plus it is just a system of archetypes for designing characters pulled into the conversation for fun, people are always more complex than overarching principles.
Perhaps you had meant for your comment to be in reply to someone else?

If you have the duality of Light and Dark, gray would be "dimly lit".
If you are "neutral to Good and Evil" you simply are "Not strongly aligned to Good."
If you don't embrace Good or Evil but just do as you please, you are an opportunist.

Do potentially have a question or three with regards to your Nkondi if it is okay.
Have seen you mention a spirit guide in the past; are the two synonymous, or is there two figures?
Then the next two are kind of related to the answer of that one but... If my recollection is correct you work with a trickster archetype on some level, right? and if so, how do you make use of trickster energy with a larger orientation towards order -- my own experience with trickster archetypes has not tended towards such, though I do fully recognize how trickster energies can be applied nobly or towards Good.
My mind got kind of pondering when you mentioned opportunistic tendencies -- my selection of silver to put aside is a small silver praying mantis medallion, which I kind of consider to be a camouflaged trickster and opportunistic hunter. But it is to my comprehension that in the traditions of the Kalahari (which I do recognize you may have less familiarity with than the path that chose you) Kaang is simultaneously a creator deity and as well as associated with trickster energy via mantis and caterpillars.
In your familiarity with African traditions, is trickster energy more of an ordering and creative force? Or do you work with such energies as a sort of balance to be able to reach a broader group? Or...perhaps some other reason entirely, am certain this post has become a bit of a confused mess.
Sorry to be a pest.

I have several spirit guides but my most consulted one is my Nkondi. he and I have the strongest association.
He is a trickster, yes, in the tradition of the Spider Anansi, he teaches not directly by telling you how it is but by telling you all sorts of things, that interact with you, and you learning the lessons yourself based on the interaction. He'll let you learn your own lessons, sometimes the easy way, sometimes the hard way. What he does is always in my interest though.
A trickster spirit is a kind of personality type. Read up on Anansi, you'll get a good idea about what its at. Tricksters are smart, cunning, but not necessarily evil.
Its how he is. My element is Sulfur and this is associated with Good AND Evil as well as the immortal human soul. I think that for this reason, a trickster spirit is the ideal companion.

Thank you for that, the mention of Anansi was helpful twofold -- formost because it gave me a bit of a smile as it reminded me of stories from my youth (partially remember one about how he refused to eat until the eighth day after an event), going to have to go back and read over some again. but also because of his representation as a spider -- a weaver; one who intertwines destinies and fates. Which provides a more ordered perspective on things -- a tug on the web here impacts things there, because all is interconnected.
My exposure to trickster spirits is more predominately localized -- namely the energies of coyote and crow but then the mantis has also been a frequent recurrence in my life, hence my selection of silver; it seemed fitting.

I'm generally happiest in interactions with people where I provide what they need and they reciprocate by providing what I need.
I guess the same applies to you.

Yes you hit it right on the head. When I say chaos magus I only mean that I have forged my own beliefs from many sources.
