what do you guys think about the other side of the theory? that dmt is also released when you are born?

The first thing I said to my daughter when she was born was: 'you know'. If it's DMT I have no idea, maybe once I've done it I might be able to add some info..

"Dr. Callaway of the University of Kuopio, Finland, has after all, conclusively demonstrated that the Near Death Experience, Out Of Body Experience, and death itself (by blood plasma spinal tap readings), are based on Pinoline, DMT, and 5meoDMT release."
the quote is from this site http://www.akasha.de/~aton/NeoDMT.html
I can't find the actual study of Callaway's in which he did this though

here's an interesting article by Callaway where he suggests a biosynthetic pathway for the production of DMT in the brain. It was written back in 1988 when, apparently, there was no conclusive proof on endogenous DMT in the brain.

man i guess rick strassman was on to something when he dubbed DMT as "the spirit molecule". by the way, has anyone here had the pleasure of reading his book yet?

I read it a few years ago and did enjoy it, it's a pretty informative book if you ask me..I thought there was a little too much foreplay/side tracking with almost irrelavent information though..but then again at teh time I was primarily interested in reading all the trip reports

Yea, i read The Spirit Molecule. It thought it was really interesting. The part about navigating the legal system were pretty boring, but im really glad he put it in there, because it showed how much ridiculous bullshit you have to go through to study a drug, and how determined he must have been. The trip reports were fun, but i was really interested in the parts about the the pineal gland and dmt production.
It seemed like he said a few really big theories, but didnt have enough evidence to back it up besides the trip reports. I think that book is where the famous sayings about dmt being released 49 days after your concieved, when you are born, and when you die come from. As far as theories about dmt go though, i think that is a very very interesting one, and i wanna know more about how dmt users feel on this issue. hence this thread...

i have expirienced dmt. i understand dmt to an incredible degree. i have injested dmt thru my lungs, stomach, nose, muscle, and viens... i can not explain dmt. i can tell you that ketamine has shown me more places that i thought were death but i dont think that k is made in my brain. on the pro side of this argument i have seen colors and smelled smells that i have known all of my life yet they are the colors and smells that only dmt has shown me. this makes me think that all of my life maybe there hasbeen a small amount of this in my brain. interesting theory but i need to see the fresh dead guy with his head open before i put my word behind this one.

I could most definitely believe this. The trips I have are like dying and being reborn, I feel like tripping ReaLLy hard on dmt is the closest I have ever been to death, spiritually emotionally mentally. I believe...

I could definitely see that, when I trip really hard on ayahuasca, the whole experience feels like dying and being reborn, so i could definitley see that.

That s what i also remember from reading the spirit molecule and other articles, there s no real proof of endogenous dmt but everything is there for the production of it. Mind you, it is years ago that i was reading up on these matters.
