WBS massive size gain after simmering??

This is my second time doing WBS and I simmered it for about 20-30 min. And then strained them.
Before the simmer each of my jars were half full. After the simmer each of my jars were near completely full.
Is this an issue? In my first run I didn't experience a size gain like this one.

Grain normally expands about twice their size. Just like rice or pasta.

Yeah I get that, but it just feels like this size gain is more than my past operation.
I guess I will just go ahead and see how they grow.

When I used WBS, I would always skim off the sunflower seeds and just get the remaining Milo & Millet (mostly ~90%). I only ever noticed a 25% expansion rate. Compared to fye which exhibited a 50% expansion rate.
What I'm thinking is that you've got a fack ton of burst kernels.... I could never Summer WBS for more than 10 minutes without getting a mass of burst kernels.
Is this yor case.... Do you have burst kernels? This would account for your expansion rate as burst kernels are larger in volume than just hydrated kernels.
WBS was a little tricky for me.... But eventually got the hang of it. So shall you.... Just keep it up, and remember what works.

24hr soak no simmer with wbs for perfect grains. i still use near boiling water to soak.
IME if they expanded THAT much they will come out bad after the PC cycle. yuo might end up with a jar full of unbreakable grain.
a good test for a jar pre spawning is when you go to spawn it how easily it breaks up/recovers. kinda hard to do that if the wbs wont even break apart let alone the myc.
