The proper time to harvest Psilocybe mexicana?

When is the proper time to harvest Psilocybe mexicana? Sclerotia grew on the outside of the medium first and I don't know if the entire substrate has been colonized. There is some very nice sclerotia on the outside though.
Anyone have any pic of a "done" bag?

Here you go

Yields do not increase after 3 months of incubation or 2 1/2 month after complete colonisation.
The type of grass seed makes quite a difference in the appearance. Mexicana grown on fine grass seed develops more sclerotia on the inside and less on the outside. Total yields however are comparable.
They can become quite LARGE

never understood why ppl have a problem with resurrecting old threads? Lotta good info in old threads, not to mention your griping at someone who is obviously doing some research

Most of the time the people are no longer around to answer. Also you have to read a whole thread just to find out what is being talked about. Research old theads then post a new question if you have one. Not griping just more relevant and efficient.

yeh, that's a good point. but to play Devils advocate, it is pretty cool to go way back and see what was the "popular" tek years ago. and u really need to read the whole thread to understand why a person might reserect it, I think if more members read old threads we'd have a lot enter understanding he'll it should be a requirement to read 50 threads instead of make 50 posts!

I would guess you got Psilocybe tampanensis, as their site says that species was collected in Tampa, FL. but if you showed the label we could tell you for sure

Take the sponsors name out. They sell spores for MICROSCOPY not for cultivation. Don't link them to your doings.
Bumping old threads is frowned on for many reasons. One, being the information is outdated.
Sclerotic producing strains do produce mushroom fruit bodys. Scleria is a survival mechanism produced by thy myc. You can harvest the scleria then hydrate your grain and fruit it.
