A Series of Unfortunate Events Netflix
    #24006225 - 01/13/17 04:52 AM (7 years, 17 days ago)

This is just a public service announcement that the A Series of Unfortunate Events Netflix series just came out last night at midnight.
Needless to say I haven't slept yet.

PS: I didn't realize this was a sad occasion.

How is it!? I've read all the books and love them but wasn't impressed with the movie with Jim Carey.

The day I saw the Jim Carry movie was the day my childhood died.
But this series is is very awesome, granted in absolutely obsessed with these books so I'm probably bias.
But I'm very happy.

I member getting my book (The Bad Beginning) signed by Lemony Snicket at the tattered cover, he was wearing a lemon yellow shirt with crazy designs all over it and I believe a satin pink tie. Actually didn't sign it, just embossed with a double sided stamp die and wrote "to Max".

If that was in Denver for the release of the penultimate peril, I was there.

What really struck me was my interaction with him (Snicket). I remember telling him "I love your books" he retorted "[What, why?] [these books are heartbreakingly terrible]," with the solemn melancholy that he uses to set the tone of his books; not in the self critical way an artist would critique their pieces.
However I do not know what book signing it was; asked my mom and she doesn't know either, can narrow it down to book 8 or 12.

I thought it was pretty cool.  I may be looking past the actual story line though and got caught up in the visual style because aside from a few shots of the baby there are no cgi effects and it's all built on sound stages which is pretty rare now days.  Plus it has a whole section with reptiles in it and you'll always get a winning vote from me when you include reptiles..

The books probably have a whole lot more story in them like most cases though..

I've been watching it a bit. The story and visuals are ok but the "learn this vocabulary" schtick get old pretty fast.

Watching the first episode now. Brilliant! Took a bit to understand what is actually going on. This is kinda like Futurama and Rick and Morty broken down an discussed it seems
