Then they gave us pieces of paper we could EXCHANGE for gold and silver.
Then money became a number on a piece of paper.
Then a number on a card or in a computer.
Our (great) grandfathers had Real Money. The money we have is fancy monopoly money.
I'll never be able to wrap my head around this concept. How the hell do you make something like this actualy take off in first place?
The frog in the pot with water. The water heats so slowly that the frog doesnt leap out and instead gets boiled to death.
Imagine that we had coins of gold and silver and suddenly they'd swap it for "legal tender" ("legal tinder" actually) There'd be a revolution. But over a few generations, people eat it up like poptarts.
We swapped THIS:

Yeah IIRC North Korea is believed to be involved in making very good quality counterfeits of US currency.

There's nothing wrong with our monetary system, the only real issue is government corruption leading to general mismanagement. Gold and silver are worth as little in a practical sense as paper, and would only complicate matters regarding digital spending.
Bartering is an inferior system for non-hunter gatherers, our current system is much more practical for contemporary civization than any ot the older systems.

Thats so wrong!
Gold and especialy silver are vital for, among things, the electronics industry, they are commodities with an intrinsic value, if only their cost of mining.
Also, while the government is mismanaging things, the government doesn;t issue the money. Money creation worldwide is in the hands of the international banking cartel, which includes the Federal Reserve. Nothing federal about it, its a private bank and its laying a huge scam on the people AND the governments.
Watch this, its fun to watch and its all true:
Its THE scam of the last centuries that now is coming to a close.

I American money still the easiest to counterfeit nowadays?
Canadian money used to be easy-ish to fake, now with the see-through holographic plastic bills, you need to be a genius to do it...

Paper also has many uses, gold and silver are far from scarce
Paper isnt going anywhere, not until its replaced by digital currency If the governments of the world didnt waste and borrow like autists, there would be no flaw in the international economic scheme

Jesus. My mouth isn't big enough to fit all the words you jsut tried fitting in there....
I spend it on shit like gas and big companies. I wouldn't pass fake cash at a mom and pop shop.
gas stations buy their gas from a big company, exxon doesnt own the gas stations, it's frequently mom and pop, even the large brands are smaller than you think

"There's nothing wrong with our monetary system"
http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2017-01-04/global-debt-hits-325-world-gdp-rises-record-217-trillion
That's debt that can NEVER be paid back, what do you think is going to happen when the world realizes that fact?
http://disruptiveinvestor.com/index.php/economy-global/30-money-velocity-in-united-states-at-a-60-year-low-30-money-velocity-in-united-states-at-a-60-year-low
And now the hoarding is getting more and more intense, it's eventually going to break to the upside.
"Gold and silver are worth as little...as paper"
Oh, you're going to see that it's not going to be the case in the coming years.

I have taken the effort to crunch the numbers and make an accurate image representation of just how wrong you are my friend

If you have $50 worth of silver or $900 worth of gold you have your entire world share of the metal.
5 Silver dollars and a gold necklace is all there is!
Thats how scarce it really is!
