had a great morning today, i went out to check some of my known spots to see if the recent rains brought any fruits up. Of the five spots I checked only one of them had some scattered fruits ready to harvest. I didn't take any pics of that patch.

then on my way back, i decided to walk over to a new area that i never got around to checking before, and i started finding patch after patch, maybe seven or eight patches, all allenii, not far from one another, some nice clusters too!

definitely still worth hunting around a bit even though its late in the season   :mushroom:  :mushroom:  :mushroom:

Beautiful finds! In my experience each patch has a unique fruiting pattern. Some are starters and some are finishers. Thats why its important to scope for new patches throughout the season.

bush-lurker wow! Nice! You really killed it this season - but I shouldn't say that past tense, should I?

I went past the spot where I found my last shrooms last season and finally there were a few mushrooms and some pins popping up today. It's close to my work and I've been checking it every few days for the last three months, so it's sort of a personal victory.

Plus five for putting in the work. It always pays to keep checking all Suitable Habitats Regardless of past fruiting history. I personally would add wood to the second year patches, or you risk it's demiss. Doesn't take much. Common belief in PNW is, More fresh wood/chips, more potent fruits.

Went to some known spots after not checking these for about 3 weeks.  This spot has produced heavy amount in the past but nothing so far this year.  Today, I found sporadic goodness spread through out the spot.  There were a lot more than these photos showed but everything was so spread out that I didn't have time to photo them all.

The good thing is that there were still pins popping!

Nice pulls, bush-lurker! Love how you often find them waiting somewhere you never thought to look...especially after getting let down on spots you often check!

Another small patch. I picked any small pins too if they had already begun to dry.

Checked a few known patches and found small clusters, including the largest Cyans of the season.

Stem doesn't really look right to me.  Too thick, not white enough. No blue bruising...

If you post an ID request on the main board maybe one of the TIs will be able to give you a better preliminary ID

Do these look active? Short white stems and brown spore prints so I'm assuming no, but it doesn't hurt to ask.
