Hey there, these were found in North california, on decomposing wood chips, they have no skirt on the stipe and bruise blue all over when bruised. we think theyre p. allenii or something close to that.

awesome i was thinking either one of those two, theyre so similar, but also trying to rule out galerina species and other poisonous lookalikes. hoping to have no accidents haha

ya think i could safely eat these? ive gotten 3 other confirmations from other pages. think theyre not some poisonoous look alike?

awesome man!! thanks for the insight! im gunna try a little today actually, such a cool feeling to find these naturally and get a positive ID on them.
dunno if anyone is still in this thread but, ive been researching like crazy and it seems nothing that is a lookalike to this even bruises blue, and i know blue bruising isnt a good identifier by itself, but i imagine if no other lookalikes bruise blue, it can be a solid indentifier.

If it bruises blue, has a white stipe, Carmel brown or close cap, and brown gills, then I take it home and spore print. At that point the print isn't really necessary but I'm still learning and trying to train my eye.
