Trip room?

Hey dudes, so me and Joel have been thinking about turning his flats spare bedroom into a trip room for the winters and I was wondering, have you guys got any thoughts on what we should put it there, its a bit bland right now but we have a rock lamp, a load of trippy paintings and posters, a massive king size bed, a huge pile of cushions and a load of different colored LED lights all around the room, we also have a TV and a radio, I was watching this video and we might make it it into something based around this, any thoughts??

You can get some brightly colored beanbags to make more comfortable floor seating. Maybe get a few lava lamps?
After tripping for like two years, I decided one days to start spinning glowsticks around and discovered I really enjoyed the visual sensations I got from it. I invested some cash in some rechargeable LED poi that strobe and change colors while you spin them cause I was going through packs and packs of glowsticks.
Check it out, you might have fun with it.
Another neat thing I've tried is making a painting on every trip for a year, and then setting up all your tripping artwork around your trip-room so you can look at it while you trip. Maybe get some paints and paintbrushes and some big canvases?
I personally like to get UV reactive paints and set up blacklights in the room so the paint glows neon.
I've got really into painting because of this and now I don't usually trip without painting something to memorialize the experience.

I've thought about doing it but I'll never convince my gf to clean her junk out of the spare room.
I got my side of the room trippy for me though.

I turned our home theater room into my trip room. Actually, I painted the room with a "space theme" over a year before I even knew what psychedelics or tripping are.
Which, was kind of a funny realization of synchronicity on that first trip when I realized I had, without knowing it, made this room for myself to explore and discover myself.

Its funny this thread came up, because I've been trying to create a trip room before I even got into psychedelics, I just don't have the funds ATM.
Of course, since I'm a gamerfaggot. My trip room would consist of posters to different worlds within certain stories. A poster for narnia, hyrule, mushroom kingdom, Traverse town, namek, skypiea...
I hear a lot of stories saying people don't like any mirrors while they trip, but I would place one body length mirror to see myself.
Then a bunch of figurines and anything else I feel love towards...
Oh yes!

So I painted this well over a year before I even knew about psychedelics. The first time I tripped (ever) was in this room. Talk about a strange feeling realizing you subconsciously did something for your future self without knowing it!
It's our home theater room (project on-going). My wife loves Doctor Who so I made the doors into a Tardis - just need the finishing touches
Interior has a "space" theme.
Tripping in this room is every bit as amazing as you would expect. The walls have 7-10 coats of various paints layered over to create the space effect with a lot of glow in the dark paint.
It's a pretty big room - 450sq ft -- took me a few weekends to paint it all. I have 10 black lights all setup with my Amazon Echo (using Wemo switches).
"Alexa, turn on the Tardis!" and they all come on. Turn off the Tardis" turns them off. When I first set that up I must have entertained myself for a solid 30 minutes just turning the lights on and off
This is how grown ups do it =)

Mad props my man! Have you looked into the fiber optic star ceiling kits? That would step up your galaxy theme and now that I think about it "Alexa, turn on the stars" would be pretty fun in the middle of a trip. I've been toying with the idea of just building a 6' x 6' square out of 2x4 cover it with some smooth partical board to hide the carbon fibers then just mount the panel to the ceiling or a wall and you have a scaled down version. You could even mount your black lights to the edge all the way around.

Thanks guys, glad you like it!
I call it my "real-life Tardis" because...
1) It's bigger on the inside then the outside. (Visual effect. The french doors at the end of a narrow hallway. You cross the doors and the narrow hallway opens into this giant room.
2) It lets me travel time and space... if you know what I mean
My wife just calls it my "drug den", haha.
I did look at fiber optic lights for the stars but I left the ceiling intentionally black. It creates this cool effect by having the walls glowing with stars and whatever I've painted to contrast with the completely black ceiling.

What kind of uv paint did you use? Does it take any "charging" to get that glow?

I got the paint from Glow Inc.
Buy a 2oz sample pack of 5 colors (or two) - kind of pricey, runs $100 per pack.
Edit: Forgot to answer your question about charging. Yes, I have 10 black lights in the room. They can charge the paint in just a few seconds but for best results, allow them to charge for 15 minutes. The purple especially takes awhile to "charge".

That room is amazing, but enough of a mindfuck and I'm gonna run into your wall. Love the god's eye.. That being said, I agree, thriving plants are a must, has surely changed every trip they've been present. Super cool to just hold a plant and study it when tripping too. I need to get some blacklights.

Ha! I'm glad you dig the eye of God My wife says it reminds of her more of the Eye of Sauron. I can't say she's totally wrong.

I was going for the eye of God nebula and I was actually really quite pleased with how well it turned out. I just wasn't entirely sure how I would feel about a glowing 6 foot eye staring at me while tripping though.
Thought it might bug me out or something since it's right in front of my couch.
So I added some pin wheels and now it spins like a vortex. I think it may have sucked me in once, lol.

my friend used to collect "trip toys" which were geometric figures or puzzles that he collected and some you could twist around into other shapes. We would play with those under the black light. And they sell moon lanterns if you wish to have the moon in your room. Or you could make something similar cheaper with one of those inflatable punch balloons by inserting a glow stick before you blow it up and you have your very own luminous globe to bat around the room.

1. Lightsabers. The toy kind that light up and make noise. Trust me.
2. Bean bags lots of them
3. A projector and a screen, or preferably a large wall. Play movies, TV shows, music videos, etc, and when you walk in front of the projection it's like you enter that world. It's really trippy.
4. Christmas lights.
5. A goldfish.

Damn I need to step up my game.
As far as plants in the trip room goes I keep my ethnobotanical plants in my closest of my room/trip room.
When I'm tripping I open it up and stare at my salvia plants and my San Pedro lmao. It feels like they give off a certain vibe and I love it, also the spill over from my Led Panels adds some crazy light to the room lol.

I also like to have a mini fridge with lots of cold water, juice, beer, whatever. Cold fruit. Sushi. Stuff for the come down phase. It's nice to not have to leave the trip room for snacks.
Candles and incense are a must for me.
A great bong.
Some good poetry books. I know that sounds weird, but I've had some awesome trips where me and my friends just read poetry all night, loudly and boisterously. Think Dead Poets Society on mushrooms.

My front room is a nice little safe haven for tripping. Nice lighting can set different moods.
I've got lots of plants around which are amazing to look at. You can get so many different shapes and textures to play with. And with the lighting, create amazing Shadows on my ceiling which create amazing patterns and dance around while tripping. Endless fun!!
I've been viewing new houses and flats recently, a trip room has always crossed my mind while going round these new places!

Phillips Hue Iris Smart Light by chance? I've had my eye on that one for quite awhile. I think there are millions of color options and they can be controlled via your voice or from a smart phone
I was looking at that one too. The one on the left is like that but a Sony one. The one behind the TV is the laser sphere. I find it better while smoking and chilling out. It's pretty hypnotic. So glad I got that one.

I would look into some DJ lights. They got all sorts of cool stuff.
Multi-colored lasers, moving lights, fog machines.
Oh, and a fish tank with neon fish under blacklight would be dope. Or a saltwater tank with blacklight sea ananome would be dope too.
Paint the walls or put up tons of cool trippy posters.
I feel like lighting of all sorts would be critical. And of course a comfy couch/bed/pillows to lay on.
A zen sand garden would cool too, something to play with too.
