Store bought oyster clone

I took a clone from some store bought oysters. I put them to oats on 01/01/17. I shook 5 days after. This is it now. I have never done oysters before besides on agar when I first started; the tissue was put directly to grain, I didn't isolate on agar. How does the mycelium look? Look like healthy oyster? Thanks in advance.

Yes that's oyster. Leave if for a day and it will get much less whispy and turn all that grain into a brick. Spawn it soon or you'll have to dig it out

Alright thanks Bodhisatta, I appreciate it. I have some grains in the PC right now, I was going to do a g2g and then spawn to straw. I just wanted to double check it looked good before expanding.

thanks.
I watched the mycelium tissue recover and begin to colonize the grain. I left it for 5 days to see if any other form of mycelium formed. Before I shook it, seemed to be only one form of mycelium. After shake their is only one form of mycelium. I am safely assuming it is oyster mycelium as their is no other CFU exposed to the grain outside the tissue. If the tissue was Contaminated I think I'd see multiple growth patters.

that and the oysters probably would just eat the cobweb anyway

Then just as this one, I shall very well do a direct to grain tissue propagation soon.

Good luck man. I would recommend going to agar first but I was out at the time.

Fun experiment. I did this a couple of years back but got yeast contamination at the grain step. Your looks a lot cleaner than mine.
