Seizures are an odd condition. It's very common to not even realize you had one afterwards. Some people will have a seizure and people around them will not realize they are having one. My girlfriend used to have seizures a lot when she was younger. She would just be sitting there and then all of a sudden just kind of zone out and become unresponsive for a few minutes, then snap out of it and just pretty much lose track of what just happened. Like suddenly waking up from a deep sleep. She experienced them enough to identify when she had one and when one is coming on. Her vision gets shaky and her head feels funny then it happens. Certain lighting and bright flashing lights tend to bring on seizures for her. Also if she is mentally and physically fatigued it can trigger one. Her latest episode happened when she was working the cash register at a retail outlet on Black Friday and standing there for 10 hours and staring at the computer screen caused it. Stress is also another trigger.
There are many different types of seizures and lots of people get them and don't even realize they had one nor do the people around them, especially if they aren't really interacting with each other like watching a movie maybe. She got them a lot when she was younger in high school now she doesn't get them as much, usually just during periods of high stress or watching something on tv with flashing lights. She can now pinpoint a lot of times when one is coming on and take preventive measures. There's a name for the type of epilepsy seizures she has but I cannot recall it at the moment.
I've also seen some kid have a seizure during a final exam I had back it college. To my understanding the best thing to do is to try and hold them still and also hold their head so there jaw doesn't move so they don't bite their tongue. I guess there's not much you can do except that they don't flop around and hurt themselves by banging their head off the ground. They can be pretty scary experiences.

I've learned in my life theirs only so much u can do for someone the rest is up to them. I care about him he's one of my best friends, but he's gonna want to change. At this point I don't think he's ready to change because he's still using.

Yeah it's everything you can do to just stay clean yourself. Getting emotionally invested in someone else's drug use is almost always a mistake if they were someone you used to get high with. I've stayed friends with some of the people I used to get high with, but you've got to keep some distance, and you kinda end up seeing how fucked up you were when you were using so usually I find those relationships are never the same, as much as I like the people and intend to stay friends.

Very well said and that's exactly what I do. I stand on the sidelines give advice as much as I can because alot of my friends confide in me, but as far as emotions go I don't let it bother me. I'm no saint by anymeans but I don't let drugs control my life anymore.

Seizures look really scary when you witness one in person for the first time. I've only seen one from really close by when a friend with no history of epilepsy suddenly had a dramatic seizure. This felt really scary partly due to me coming up on a low dose of mushrooms and being quite stoned at the time.
He was somewhat inebriated and felt a bit weak, and told others that he'd have to take a nap. On his way to his bed he fell flat on his back and hit his head in the floor. When he was unresponsive another friend called me over to look at him, his eyes made a strange slow motion from side to side slowly moving upwards when I opened his eyelids. Then he slowly started tensing up, convulsing, clenching his jaw, puking and screaming with his mouth closed. All I could think of doing was holding his head and neck straight, and it passed somewhat quickly (it felt long at the time of course). It was one of the more horrifying experiences I've had since I didn't really know what was going on. He is a diabetic and we others thought it might have been something really dangerous related to his blood sugar levels.
Anyway, he didn't have any more later and did get checked by a doctor, but they found nothing wrong with him. All he could think of being wrong was being exhausted from working (he's had a burnout before) and the drugs, I think he had a little bit of shrooms, a glass of wine and way too much pot. He also denied it and said it was probably something else than a seizure, and thought everyone else was exaggerating when explaining how bad it looked.

It's common to remember nothing from a seizure, regardless of what caused it. I see a lot of patients with various seizure disorders. Some of them have hundreds of little seizures a day. That shit really wrecks havoc on development.

koods said: I've seen those spice overdose videos. I saw one that looked like a genuine seizure, but the other ones only had passing resemblance to a seizure. They look much more like severe dystonia. Dystonia is a an involuntary clenching of the muscles, and that's what your description of holding onto the bracelet sounds exactly like. ER reports for spice overdoses are littered with references to dystonia.
Hmmm you could be right about the dystonia. During dystonia should I be unconscious or conscious? Because I was definitely unconscious

You have to have severe hypoglycemia before you would have a seizure. It's doubtful someone without a blood sugar disorder or insulin induced hypoglycemia or a fasting for a day or more would get low enough.

blueberry d said: One of my really good friends I seen do this a couple times. He was on anti seizure n I had to remind him everytime I was around him if he took them. The time that scared me the most is he was on Meth n heroin (which I didn't know at the time) n both of us get albuterol inhalers well he didn't have his at the time n asked me if I could come down n see him cuz he couldn't breathe. I go see em n I could tell something was up asked if he had his meds today, he doesn't answer the question just starts hitting this inhaler trying to catch his breath. Then down he went (mind u I've seen him in seizures before but this was different) face down in a puddle of water. I pulled him out of the puddle n turned him on his side tried to tell him I was calling an ambulance he refused so I got em inside the house where he was at n left. He got ahold of me the next day n explained what happened, had to tell em to tighten up cuz I care about em. He still uses to this day but theirs only so much u can do.
Sounds like an OD
