I hope to be in a similiar situation before long, still need some more space though before I buy any big lights.

Planned on doing the tea.
I was just concerned about the quality of the cactus itself after wilting and going limp.
It was a dumb question, nevermind.

If you prepare it quick enough it probably would be fine I imagine.

I just had the same thing happen to 2 PC pach but by the time I really noticed they already smelled a bit funky as it had been a day or so at least from them thawing.

:undecided: Yeah, it's been one or two days for these too. They don't smell bad yet though..

I'm gonna inspect them more thoroughly tomorrow and decide if they're worth hanging onto I guess. Thanks ya'll.

Good day everyone. I understand pachanoi LER has been around since the nineties, sounds pretty consistent to still be around and prevelant. Has anybody ingested this clone or heard of it's magic?

I'm working on an ethanol extraction right now. I'll let you know how it goes. Going to start at 50 grams of dried powder, then extract then eat. Since my tolerance is up due to several experiences recently I'm sure I will need more than that but I'm starting low and working up since I have a lot of powder to play with

Those are catalog numbers of strains of trichos. When they are collected in the wild the collector gives them a catalog number to tell them apart. Those are good strains. They are very small to transplant. If that tap root was damaged they will die. Only one way to find our and that's to give them time

Dont they look small enough to put back into a higher humidity environment or am I mistaken?

thank you guys. any advice on what i should do to take care of them right now?
i dont want them drying out and that seems to be a small problem because of how they've shriveled, but seem fine now.

I'd just give plenty of water, could try popping cling film over them for a little while to hold in some humidity see if that helps, but should hopefully perk up now they've had a water

Edit - for trichs I use a mix of compost, perlite and stones, even parts. These are last years lot I set going.

Yeah those definitely need to be under humidity still
SS02 is a named clone from sacred succulents, 01 is a peru type, 02 is bridge, I can't remember 03 and 04 is a knuthianus

Oscar is a pachanoi I believe, crosses of it have a pretty decent rate of mutation
Clyde is a peru, both are clones named by misplant I believe

I got mine safe and sound inside close to but not in the direct route of the heater. Gonna hopefully transplant them into 5 gallon buckets each of them.

So I don't like using regular "potting soil" it might just be me but I wanna be sure everything in there is perfect for my plants be it mj,  cactus or ayahuasca. So im hearing lots of perlite and a regular bag of potting soil will do the trick. Anything other than potting soil so I can have complete control over what they feed on? Or just potting soil and perlite is good enough? I don't wanna overcomplicate things but I don't wanna cut any corners if I can help it, id spend the money to get the best hand made soil I can mix, or go the simple route with perlite and a bag of miracle grow lol. Ill post some pics when I get my car fixed. Went on a 800 mile round trip and my car broke down not even there yet so I had to drive 500 miles with a broken muffler... Shit dragging on the road till I got some wire to hold it. Bad times lol

You can buy a cactus compost. You will pay more for it, and still need to add perlite and stones

I find potting compost perlite and stones just fine for all trich I started this year. And many other types as well.
Tried a few with a little limestone added, but I don't add now just mix above and it's plenty good enough
Don't waste your pennies

Asking about soil here will get you a 100 different responses. Trichos aren't picky but in my experience stay away from anything that says miracle grow on it. As far as feeding they don't need much especially this time of year. Give them monthly feedings in the summer and make it light feedings

Yeah trichs really don't care and unless you're using truly bad soil you probably won't notice a difference spending tons of time mixing your own soils and shit
that's what I did this summer, I had my own mix of 1/1/1/1 coir/humus/perlite/stones
now I use use pro mix potting soil and throw some sharp gravel in there
the peres have been living in straight pro mix for a while now and are loving it

Just had my very first trichoserus scopulicola seeds sprout, about 5 seedlings so far out of a tray of ~20, and we're only a few days in.

:dancer:

I have them in about an inch of moist sand inside a Tupperware with holes poked in the bottom for drainage, inside a large ziplock bag to create a humidity dome for them.

On the topic of soil, (sorry to reignite the debate, ) will a 100% sand mix be okay for these little guys until they're large enough to transfer to another growing medium?

What sort of growing medium should I move them to when they're old enough to be weaned out of humidity? My pachanoi seem to like a 50/50 perlite/soil mix pretty well. Am I safe in assuming the scops will be okay in the same sort of soil?

:sanpedro:
