Made some grafts one or two months ago to do something during the bad days...
Turns out that most of them are doing very good. Among them, this matucana madisoniorum. Attempted to graft this specie 3 or 4 times before but always failed. This time it's doing very well.

Fun to see that it does not look like an adult at all.

This thing is growing so fast. I've never seen a graft going this fast. It might be because it's the closest possible to my lights and the peres stock is looking really really healthy.

See the progress on the pups !

The species has attractive variables , i love the seed grown Madisourums because you never know what your getting . I've got a white and red flowered variety of madisorums and lost one last fall. I've nver seen them so thorny before, i guess that is more during thier younger ages. It really is nice to watch them grow from diapers to ages of drugs and alcohol

You do get better at it, after lots of effort.
Anyone, who is sharp at this, has probably killed countless plants, which is a good reason to make many.

Looking great I'd remove the pups and impale them on new stock to propagate more and speed up the growth of the main head.

I love matucana madisoniorum. When it was first discovered it was thought to contain mescaline, though this later proved to be false.
Do matucana madisoniorum graft just like lophophora cacti?

Bump
I've sown some seeds of this plant, they've germinated promptly and they are looking awesome and bulbous!
I do plan to graft more than half if I have the rootstocks... do these grow pretty much as slowly as Lophs or is it still a couple times faster? How long till an ungrafted one is 2 inches diameter, what about one grafted on peres?
I am patient, just interested to get an idea of the age of plants I am looking at in pics...
And wondering what you guys have going on in the Matucana department?

Well done mate! I only have had this one plant for about a year but from what I can tell the growth is similar to lophs, maybe slightly faster. Had this flower last summer:
