How I spawn my Kombucha mother * 1

Title says all.


Gear

A big cooking pot
Cheese cloth
A 4 litres glass jar
4 bags of black tea
1 cup of white sugar
Kombucha mother in her juice/ or apple cider vinegar

Process

Water and sugar ----->pot----->bring to a boil----->turn off heat
Let infuse 15-30 min
Take off the tea bags
Let it cool, then put everything in your glass jar, cover with cheese cloth and let sit for a couple days up to 2 weeks at room temperature.

Then bottle it/ drink it. :tongue:

Sweeeet!  We recently switched out the cheesecloth for a clean piece of tyvek, its breathable and helps keeps the culture just a bit cleaner (ours is a cut piece of an envelope) cheers :smile:

Update: the tyvek kombucha is very tasty, clean, and I feel superior to the cheesecloth method.
