If you had used the wide-mouth half pint jars, you would have fully colonized jars by now. I made the same mistake you did when I first tried BRF cakes. They took forever to fully colonize. In fact, it took so long that half way through their colonization I picked up a dozen of the half pint jars and inoculated them and the half pints ended up finishing at the same time as the full pint jars. It took slightly less than half the colonization time of the big jars.
I would recommend you purchase the half pint wide-mouth jars and simply prepare twice the amount of jars as you would full pints, that way you end up with the same amount of substrate in half the time.

Sweet. Do you know of a cheap place for jars in Ireland? A bag of verm was €24, but I got it anyway. I went to three towns, no sucess with the jars. I'm still looking for a storage box and micropore tape. Oh, rural Ireland.
