Are there any non-terrifying level 5s or ayahuasca trips?

I'm wondering if that's like the norm when it comes to level 5 mushroom trips or ayahuasca experiences. Do they always have the terrifying element in them? I'm going to an ayahuasca retreat in a few weeks. And I'm ready for it to be terrifying. I am surrendering myself to it. I have never exceeded a level 3 shrooms trip but I was thinking of doing a level 5 this weekend and my main concern is that if it's too terrifying it might make me reconsider wanting to experience aya.

If youre going to an aya retreat that im sure you paid good money for, why wreck it with tolerance?
Granted there probably wont be much tolerance, but even still, preserve the magic.

yeah i dont think a lvl 5 shrooms trip will wreck an aya one, unless it makes me fear it more. i just felt that a level 5 would kind of prepare me for it somehow.

It's just that people tend to report certain kind of experiences. some level 5 trip are just smooth and nice. Personaly the beginning is always a bit hard until i let completely go, then it's bliss.
Anyway you should be ready for anything, that's the spirit. you can always be surprised.

Youre going to do what you do, sounds like a bad idea.
You dont sound familiar with tripping at high doses, but as someone who is and who has lost the magic, i would personally not touch any psychs until the ceremony

for you, is it a lot harder to let go vs letting go on weaker trips? i mean i've learned to let go years ago but then again my max was a level 3 trip... is it a completely different kind of letting go?

Be careful with your mindset. If you are going in, expecting a rough ride, it can very well be a result of self-fulfilling prophesy.
Get that out of your head, then proceed. No matter how intense the show, all you need remember is there is a time limit after which the theatre will let out. Exit through the lobby and you'll be fine.

I think as far as the amount these cultures partake in these substances, you should go into it as more of a virgin imo. I don't know if this makes sense but, the way I see it, you can never know what to expect with even lower level trips, let alone a completely immersive experience between two different substances.
Level 5's are almost ALWAYS described as terrifyingly beautiful. I can tell you they are beautiful, but you have no point of reference sensory-wise and that is TRULY terrifying.

My first 5g mushroom trip was amazing. I remember laying on my couch under a warm blanket that felt like "A blanket made of love".
+1 for waiting until the ceremony though.

Since there is no tolerance with DMT (ayausca) I would say do your shrooms. 5 gram's is incredible and like others have said it can go either way. I often have less anxiety with larger doses because it just overcomes me.

Ive eaten ridiculously high doses of lots of different psychedelics and have never had a terrifying one. Maybe its because I have completely surrendered and therefore there is nothing left to fear so all I feel is pure love. I took 14 g shrooms with ayahuasca and at no point was it terrifying

Its a roll of a dice...but dont forget that everything will pass and that doesnt mean not trying to get out of the bad trip by changing music or take a walk.

Well shit you can do that with 2 grams
I don't think there's anything particularly special about the high dose experience besides conquering your fear of taking it, you can swim to the deep end from the shallow once your more experienced, and then you can do it in meditation.
