I pay about $185.
Thats for HD cable, some movie channels, basic internet and phone service. Triple play by Comcast. I also rent two small tuners and one large DVR tuner.
I think its a pretty decent deal, the HD channels are Awesome

Cable TV is for old people. They like the networks telling them what to watch and when, and they are addicted to commercials in some sick way.
But lets face it, watching netflix is watching TV.

My mom just put me on paying the cable and now I'm watching over where my money is going like a hawk
I'm paying for optimum and currently am paying 160$ after a 10$ increase after the last bill cuz they decided to up the prices on renting the cable boxes. And noone in the house, but my brothers, watch tv and it's only 1 channel. So I'm returning 3 of the 4 cable boxes I have which should save me 30$ a month. Tv is also 50$ after 15$ promo savings plus free starz&starz encore and Showtime after 34$ promo savings. Noone watches this so I'm going to get rid of that before they hit me with those "end of promo" shit. Pretty pissed about this whole tv thing they should just allow us to choose channels instead of a bogus package.
idk why I'm paying a 5$ sports tv surcharge fee. Noone here that I know of has watched a second of any sports.
Paying 34.95$ for internet after the 25$ promotional offer, but when that's over and the price increases and I'm still left with nothing but ass internet, I'm gonna have a chat with them. This is the basic package which I'm pretty sure is claimed to be 10 mbps download speeds. Speedtest.net says my computer is at 16.82 mbps download and 5.31 mbps upload. Not bad I guess....but still mad money
Phone I don't know my mom insists on keeping it so whatever. it's 14.95 after 20$ promo savings and my mom is the only one who calls to check on my brothers. So that's stupid
This whole thing is a mess
Found out their internet basic speed is claimed to 25mbps. Nothing but ass

True, but I'll just never understand why people still mess with cable. I guess because they always have and are used to it?
Whenever I go to one of my friend's houses and they are watching cable I am literally driven up the wall by the damn commercials. I leave their house feeling like I've seen the same 3 or 4 commercials over and over again and that's just from spending one evening there. I couldn't imagine what it must be like to be them, seeing that annoying fake shit everyday.

I do it for convienence. I dont wanna search channels using a computer.
With TV, pick up the remote, 100s of channels at your fingertips.
Plus the visual quality is more consistently better quality IMO.

I guess that makes sense. Keeps things simple I suppose. All the fake superficial shit on cable can really get to me though.

i agree, i hate commercials.
And convienence does come at a high cost especially with cable, but so does 7-11, McDonalds, fast food in general, movies in the theater, gas in remote mountain towns, buying tickets online, u get the idea...

Lol relax, they're just commercials. Tune them out. It's not that hard. Reminds me of a friend/acquaintance I have...commercials used to make him want him break his TV, lol. The dude would literally comment on every commercial that came on like

But anyway most cable/satellite companies issue DVRs now. My pops has this method where he'll pause it, go do something for like 15 or 20 minutes, and then come back and watch whatever he was watching, and then just forward through the commercials the rest of the way.
Pretty good strategy if the commercials really bother you that much.
