    #23998726 - 01/10/17 04:53 PM (7 years, 20 days ago)

info is slightly limited - saw these but didn't have time to collect enough info. just looking to see what all the possibilities are and if these two are different species or just different in maturity. ballparking it from the pics is mostly what I'm going for - will go get more info soon if it's worth. thx everyone

Habitat:
Where does it grow?
Bay Area, California. On dirt/bark next to a large tree.

Gills:
tan on larger one; purple-ish on smaller. medium spread, both adnate

Stem:
White/tan, slightly blue, 1.5in on large one, 3-4in on smaller (height). half an inch diameter on both.

Cap(large):
concave, deep caramel to slight purple, 5-6in diameter

cap(small):
slightly convex, 2.5in diameter, white to tan

I had the same thought regarding the spore deposit and makes me unsure about the previous IDs cuz the closest resembling species have light brown spore prints - any thoughts?

I also think cortinarius - apart from the spore dusting on the stem, you can also see a wisp of the cortina.
