Sorry, but are we so sure spores 'die' when frozen?

Wait you mean a Cyan print will die in the freezer but can survive PNW winters?

Some species survive some don't Cubes don't like to be froze... Don't take my word for it though try it out yourself if you can't be bothered to look it up for confirmation
Cubes spores could be cryogenically frozen but most spores don't enjoy a slow freezing that makes ice crystals. Some species have that covered.
Freezing doesn't outright kill all cube spores immediately either. But it severely reduces viability

I wonder how spores are able to withstand such drastic conditions. Eh I guess I have tonights research

Different concentrations of things like glycogen and other cellular protecting compounds.
Cubensis syringes are sometimes sent with hand warmers in winter by vendors and they'll replace frozen ones no questions asked.

What about freeze-drying them and then putting in a freezer for storage
definitely not a syringe, just a print or swab. The water would destroy the spores within when it froze. I just store my prints in a little organizer kept in a closet.

I just store mine in the ziplock i printed them in. Nothing facy is needed for spores. If you want to make a bag print into syringes then just inject sterile water into the bag, dissolve the spores and suck it back up in the sryinge. Inject into a jar with lc lid and 500ml of water. Use for cakes as needed

Mushroom spores are one of the hardest natural organic matters on earth, burning them or put chemicals on them will kill there for sure, but warm temperatures will cause them to germinate on what ever surface or liquid they are in, as long as its moist, I had some jars for a few years and I left them on the counter for a day and just put them in my cupboard, came back a few years later and there was this yellowish white mess in the syringes and I inoculated some jars with them and the jars didn't do anything, making them useless, you can keep spore prints anywhere as long the environment isn't "extreme" ie - soaked in bleach or burnt . . .

That doesnt seem very accurate....they need nutrition to germinate

Nope even in distilled water they germinate while culping together. They eat each other as a food source. Thats why a fresh print to swab to wet agar is a win each time. Syringes should be made with very little amount of spores as possible. Hate those vendors that sell the picth black spore syringes as better qualty.

tump said 'nope' but then verified what kenetic said?
anyway, i agree with the other thing tump said.
my homemade syringes were clear. no clumps or specs. and believe me they were loaded.

Spores have nutrient receptors on their surface. They can't eat each other before germination, nor do they consider each other food.

They're not hard at all and relatively not durable either
Warm doesn't make them germinate. Wet and nutrition does.

No one can tell you for sure but its been answered already. And answered hundreds of times before. Its not rocket science, put them on a shelf.
Once you grow more shrooms you have a life time supply of spores anyways.
