PE Black Caps
    #23998021 - 01/10/17 12:03 PM (7 years, 20 days ago)

This monotub was looking to be a great one, but something has started to change. The caps are starting to get really dark. When I see black caps I usually think aborts, but these seem to be way past that phase and looked like very promising fruits. Has anyone ever ran across this?

Looks like an abort.  Is the cap getting soft and mushy?

Nice tub though

I guess I have just gotten lucky and never had aborts that size before. Yeah, I cased with Jiffy.

not aborts look at the stems and the brown colorings
they're being eaten by psuedomonas

compare with this thread
https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/23892188#23892188

and
https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/23628392#23628392

and here's the microscopy
https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/22162201

PE is very susseptiable to this, use bright and adequate lighting, more fresh air, do not mist as much as you were either.

don't try to fix this grow. don't spread it around. start over clean and keep it clean

in the meanwhile not for constant use check out this thread

https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/23653379/fpart/1/vc/1

if it were me I would harvest what I could now and dump that today
I was fucking with pseudo for months

Ouch! Can I just keep pretending they are aborts haha. Aww this hobby... so humbling. I really appreciate the response bodhisatta! You have potentially saved a few of it's buddies.

Is it safe to dry these? I don't want to shoot bacteria everywhere. I guess I should harvest this outside as well?

I have come to terms with your findings, but would it change anything if I never misted these? I do not mist my tubs. Would this be something I should of noticed in my spawn jars? Thanks again for the knowledge!

I think it may have to do with low temperature, inadequate light, not enough FAE, and most importantly PE genetics being fucky sometimes. You probably had clean spawn. I think its environmental + PE susceptibility honestly

You're probably fine to harvest indoors but i wouldn't worry about eating the nice looking ones dried up

Well the deed is done. I really hope I never have to do that again... that sucked!! Thanks again for the information. I would have let those go way too long. I actually think I might get a decent amount under the circumstances.
