Questions about Monotubs and Humidity

First time growing mushrooms in every regard! Starting with 2 monotubs, each 66qt. Right now I am in the colonizing phase.
For a very brief rundown of my operation: I spawned with WBS to a substrate of 42.5% wheat straw, 42.5% horse poo, and 15% verm. I did not layer my spawn, I broke it up into many small pieces and a good handful of large chunks (1/2 in cubed maybe for the large chunks) and mixed in with the substrate a good 3 inches above the bottom of the tub. 6 rather large air exchange holes about 3 inches in diameter each tightly stuffed with polyfill.
Now at this point I'm confident with how I set it up, holes maybe too large, sub maybe a bit basic, and humidity was hand tested to field capacity so it was a bit jenky but I digress. The top of the monotubs are what keep me from sleeping at night. After months of research on this topic the top of these tubs was rarely mentioned, I used foil (two large sheets for each tub that overlap in the middle). After setting the tubs in my closet to incubate/cultivate --correct me if i use these terms wrong-- I meant to tape those opening slits on the foil tops shut but as I normally do I forgot. Fastforward to 7 days later and I finally remember to tape down the open slits on the lids but mycelium has still been fuzzily spreading across the top of the substrate. No condensation is forming on the walls of the tubs accept for a very light amount near the corners close to the lids and I am aware the humidity can still be high without visual condensation but normally that happens in the presence of warmer temperatures rather than temps like mine around 70-80. I tend to get noided even with lots of prep so after the journey here's my question... Should I nudge some polyfill aside and mist the tubs a bit or should I leave them be and wait longer for them to colonize more?

dont worry about the lids. you want them loose not super tight. i take handle locks off too. just use the lid the tote came with and you will be good.
looks like you used a ton of polyfil. lots of people have great results using micropore tape. cuts down on all that fluff. also if you have cats they will fuck with your poly.
ditch the tinfoil
but it looks good. good job. looking forward to seeing some pins.

Didn't buy lids with the bins assuming foil would be best but will drive over to target now and grab some! Thanks so much for the quick reply, the myc doesn't look underdeveloped for a week? I was gunna let it run for another week before throwing them into fruiting and lightening the amount of polyfill in the holes. And as for the misting you wouldn't be worried?

you should not need to mist if you are colonizing the tub. just let it do its thing. some people do fruit at spawning. as in mix it all up with your bulk and introduce to fruiting right away. just a thought.
i forgot to buy lids once too

don't mist right now. The colonization looks okay for a week in. You're doing fine for a first grow. Let it go and see what happens.

Yes apologies, I made the original post without using BBCode, not realizing I needed it for displaying photos. I could not find an option to change that after I already posted the thread. After I read the rules it didn't seem to prohibit deleting a thread due to a mistake on the un-editable options of the post. It was my first post, getting the hang of all this stuff though, thanks for the heads up!
