getting Benzo Script

Hi,I know this has been discussed before. I have anxiety with particularly bad stomach pain. My doctor finally gave in and wrote for 1.5 mg of Klonopins a day but unfortunatley I need more as I used to take it years ago. I also take Wellbutrin, Seroquel, and remeron which was supposed to replace the Seroquel but I haven't been able to get off the Seroquel.
He's refused writing a higher dose of Klonopin in the past. I don't know what angle to take. I like my doctor okay but the benzo issue has been making me pretty uneasy for some time now. Any additional advice would be appreciated. PM's welcome as well.

I'd be cautious asking for more. Benzos are hard to get in the first place. You don't want to have them taken away because the doctor gets the impression that you're trying to get high.
You should be happy with what you have. It took me forever to get my benzo script and I had to fight to keep it when I started methadone. Even then I got cut back to 1mg per day.

He's willing to keep me on them. I've been on for around a year now. I agree I'm glad he hasn't tried to force me off them.

In my experience if you actually need a medication then the GP is there to help, all you've got to do is believe you need it. i.e. know why you need it

Valarian root and marijuana do really well for spasmodic originated stomach pains. If it's not spasmodic then the benzos are help masking the true problem (if it even actually helps at all) and the true problem should be addressed. If not then eventually benzos won't help you. Unless you are simply high out of your mind. But that's like becoming an alcoholic to deal with pain...
Try other things. You are already dependant at 1.5mg per day. You will have to come off eventually or, if your doctor does enable you, you will start to rot your brain. Benzo and alcohol abuse over a long period of time both cause brain damage.
Dunno how bad your anxiety and other issues actually are... I personally don't agree with giving seroquel to anyone that doesn't have severe bipolar disorder or a psychosis related mental illness. But you could get more specific advice to dealing with your issues if you go over to our physical and mental wellbeingg forum. Or just asking for that advice specifically.

Yeah I just reread that you're having trouble getting off of seroquel, even with having a "replacement" please take my advice and don't let benzos end up on that list at well.
I definitely think people that need it should get it... I dunno if you actually need it or just dunno what else to do. And that's okay, everyone ends up in that boat sooner or later, but unfortunately alot of people also make the problem worse by failing to see beyond the options they have picked for themselves.
Not accusing or assuming or scolding you (might be assuming a little but I admit I don't know near enough about you) I am up typing this out on my phone because I care about giving people good advice and helping them better their lives. Benzos are an extremely short term solution. Imho all of your meds should be unless you are schizophrenic or near enough.

I'm in a similar situation except it's worse for me since I had to move to a different state. I was getting the max amount of Xanax and now the doctors in this state won't give me any! It's a real fucking hassle. My advice would be to keep trying different doctors until you find one with a better attitude and then stick with them.

Even then, it should be carefully monitored as Seroquel has a lot of unpleasant side-effects. I know this from experience.

It does and unfortunately, like alot of other psychiatric medicine, it has the potential to make some mental issues worse. I believe anxiety is on that list.
