Bucket tek question

So I followed the bucket tek located here: My Elementary Coir Tek
I'm not so sure that the substrate had pastured correctly because after I had poured the boiling water in and let it sit an hour I was able to stir the substrate however it was not hot as I was able to put my hand to the bottom of the bucket and make sure the bottom was stirred correctly into the mix.
Would it be a bad idea to properly pasturize it with quart jars bringing it all up to the correct temperature for the required amount of time?
I'm debating on following this tek because like I said I donot beleive this pasturized correctly: Frank's Proper Pasteurization Tek 3.0
Any thoughts about this? Any more needed information I'm forgetting for an accurate analysis of this situation?

It's coir. You could mix it with tap water and it would be fine You don't need to pasteurize coir like you do for manure based substrate. The bucket TEK is partial sterilization Coir does better cooked Sterilize coir > bucket TEK coir > pasteurized coir > simply hydrated coir.
Coir sits in reptile terrariums more than weeks without molding
I do the bucket TEK I preheat the bucket with boiling water. Dump it out add coir amd then the appropriate amount of boiling water. Then wrap in a blanket to keep it above 170F as long as possible

So in other words no need to be so concerned about it? Ya I had a hermit crab terrarium for a while using coir as a substrate it gos for ever without any issues I just didn't know how it would perform in this application......I would hate to ruin my grow after getting this far however so I figured better to check than to just go threw with it and screw it up

Yeah, there's been experiments done by people on here that were able to use coir straight from hydrations and not even using boiling water or bucket tek. You should be fine; coir and verm are mighty resilient to contamination so there's almost nothing to worry about for at least 2-3 flushes (unless your grains are already contaminated).

There's no thermophilic bacteria in coir so pasteurizing it is just warm water hydration. I would prefer bucketing it
