Monotub contamination rate
    #23991916 - 01/08/17 09:32 AM (7 years, 1 month ago)

Hey guys, so I know this is a stupid question because a shitload of variables are going into the equation but can someone with many monotub grows under their belt tell me approximate rate of contamination of monotub? (from the moment of spawning good looking spawn to the first flush)

Nearly 0% before the first flush if your spawn actually is clean.
If you used anything other than coir(CVG) for your substrate that has to be properly pasteurized too.

If you used a clean piece of agar to inoculate your jars, then you're not gonna see any major contaminates popping up to affect your first flush, given you prep your sub properly.
But, sticking to the basic CVG mix gives you a lot less to worry about.
When you start working with manure based substrates, then you really need clean agar, the slightest bit of bacteria will likely ruin the grow and your tub will trich out before the first flush.
