There's just something i don't understand...
You respect our privacy and shit... but make it impossible to fully access Shroomery via Tor.
And if abuse is such a problem and/or concern... why no force all posts/sign up's done over the Tor network to be approved by mods.

Thanks for the feedback! We do allow people to register and access the entire site using Tor, a VPN, or a proxy. The one restriction is that you can only post in the Mushrooms, Mycology and Psychedelics forums until you have 50 posts, or disable your proxy, or become a supporter. This is due to recurring abuse from people who use proxies for trolling or scamming purposes. I think our approach is a pretty good compromise since it cuts down on the opportunities for malicious behavior, but it still allows people to fully utilize the site for its intended purpose: learning about mycology. Unfortunately, approving accounts by hand is not a viable solution since there's no way to know ahead of time if a user from a proxy is malicious. All we know is that they want to hide their identity from us for some reason, and if they cause problems they will be more complicated to ban. So, we limit them to the mycology forums and give them a chance to build a reputation with their first 50 posts. But if you have any suggestions for how we can better manage our community and enforce our rules without affecting legitimate members, we'll be glad to give them consideration!
P.S. Past performance is not a guarantee of future results, and law enforcement priorities can always change. But since 1997 we have only received two subpoenas: one relating to a child custody dispute, and one relating to the Silk Road trial. So in almost 20 years, nobody has ever heard a peep from the site if they were just growing or using psychedelics for personal purposes. I feel like that's a pretty good track record!

Oh... I see, well that does make sense
It just that I don't like supporting sites that restricts access for Tor users.

Only 2? I would have actually expected a lot more...
Anyway... thanks for making things clear for me... your system seems fair
