It was said in the TEK but I just wanted clarification. Sorry I did miss a few pages.
I found my answers as I have just reread the entire thread.
Again thanks for pointing this out. I will make sure that I have read everything from now on. Again great write up.

Hey BOD. I am just about to take the plunge and cultivate and your posts and videos have been outstanding reference. After wiping the SAB out with ISO, what is the purpose of spraying the soap and water? Looking forward to taking a crack at my liquid spores to agar tomorrow!
Cheers

To knock down contaminants. We can't sanitize or sterilize the inside of a sab reliably. We're working with physics to do aseptic work

So we wipe the SAB with alcohol and then mist with the water and soap? Just making sure the misting is done with the water and soap rather than the alcohol sprayer. Where does the alcohol sprayer come into play?

If you don't have a coffee can to make the holes or are worried about any fumes released from heating a coffee can, you can also use an aluminum dryer vent connector.
Which looks like:
This also works: but can be flimsier depending on the brand.
Easily found at any hardware store for like 2 - 4 bucks and come in different sizes or can be adjustable.
Or if you want to be really cheap pull the one off your own dryer.
Heat on stove top for like 5 min on high if you have electric or on top of a cheap pan if you have open flame/gas stove for a few minutes longer. Remove hot connector from stove with tongs, put it where you want an armhole on the SAB and push down with a thick oven mitt until it pops through.

It's worth doing a nice finished job on the melted holes. But if you do a "low temp" melt thru there's less fumes. And there's a buildup of plastic that can be smoothed. It may take three four heat ups to get thru but better than making the can red hot and burning plastic
How wide are the holes on your setup? Also do you think one would benefit having the hole that is your dominant arm slightly higher than the non dominant arm? Or is keeping them even the way to go?

Bigger size dominant hole? Seems like the reply doesn't answer the question. Just wanting to clarify.....

So putting those PVC adapter fittings in the holes is a bad idea? If so is it part of the same idea to make the holes bigger than 6 inches so you do not kick air up as you move?
