1st Time grower, long time reader of the boards. I have a few photos that I took after 5 days in the casing layer.
What's going on with my three tubs? These are three different strains. I've uploaded photos.

there's an edit button so you don't have to double post.
the first and the third one are clearly contaminated, they need to be thrown away, number two will probably get contaminated.
you didn't really give us any details as to what you did so the only thing I Can tell you that went wrong was you did something wrong
your spawn wasn't clean, or if you used manure based substrate it wasn't pasteurized correctly. or both

Sorry, coarse vermiculite, WBS, peat moss, crushed oyster shells, pickling time and coir

How did you inoculate the jars?

Washed them out, wbs in boiling water, made a SHIP on a mason lid and PC'd them for 90 mins at 15 psi

From the SHIP, I'm guessing a syringe was involved in the inoculation?

What substrate did you use that was sterilized? If it was anything other than coir, verm, and gypsum, then that's your problem right there. And also, your peat moss casing should always be pasteurized, not sterilized, that's another huge vector for contamination.

70% is better at sanitation than 91% is
you can water down 91 into 70% just add 30% water to the 91%
you need to flame needles after wiping them til they're red hot.
also peat moss shouldn't be sterilized nor used in a bulk substrate I would avoid using a casing layer at all until you have some grows under your belt cubes don't need a casing at all.

If you used a syringe, you likely unknowingly put bacteria in your spawn, which then weakened the mycelium enough to allow other contaminants to take hold (do I see trich in those OP pics?)
Always assume syringes are bacterial, and look into agar work to avoid this in future.

Sorry, I meant to say that it was pasturized not sterilized. Hence the pressure cooker.

you just said you sterilized your grains, you sterilized your substrate and you sterilized your casing layer
