A few agar questions

So I have had germination issues on and off since I started this hobby. So I finally broke down and bought lab grade agar wide mouth filter discs and fresh syringes from a sponsor this week. I'm still waiting on delivery but it will be here Monday. I'm wondering if there is anything different when working with the agar. I have been using bar agar this whole time. I'm assuming lab grade will be more concentrated? I should not have to use as much for a batch. It should also be a bit quicker to dissolve when I prep my pasty plates? I always worry about carmelization but that has to do with over cooking the sugars, honey, malt, etc. correct? The syringes are to make Spore solution. I'm hoping getting some print material in the syringe will rehydrate spores? Making them more likely to germinate on a plate. I've got some exotics that have proven to be extremely finicky. I had some cultures of them but this last year was very busy and most of them died off or dried out. I'm still trying to decide if the last culture is worth working with. So I'm just happy to get to play with my toys again.

Home made agar for germination. Make it on the nutrient heavy side and a little light on the agar so the plates are less stiff.
Caramelization shouldn't be a concern. Agar only needs 15m at 15psi. Don't go over 20-25 minutes and there's no concern

after switching over to premade MEA from the stuff that comes in bars i noticed that i only needed 4 teaspoons to a cup of water instead of the 4 tablespoons i used of the stuff in bars. i don't think there's much difference in weight just volume. from that i can get 10 plates.
