Everything thats in the photos if you can stomach it....the prefered method is a tea or hot water extraction. I chop into tiny pieces, place in my pressure cooker, pour boiling water over and cap it for about an hour and a half, strain and drink or freeze until rdy. Start with 8oz cups and wait an hour to assess potency. My patches usually take 16 oz for a great 5-6 hour ride. But I'm also using at least 2lbs of fresh material per gallon of water. I've used as low as 8oz of fresh material in 32oz of water for 1 trip. Its tough to gauge potency of a new patch, take notes.

With the weak annulus, green staining and non bitter taste Gymnopilus validipes may be more appropriate here.

I am quite interested in the mushrooms you found. I recently found some very similar mushrooms growing out of live oak roots in south louisiana. See the thread below for photographs: https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/23963424#23963424
Those I found appear to have a more pronounced ring than those above. However, the distinctive ring lessened greatly with age. Do you have other pictures of the younger mushrooms in the cluster, taken from the bottom so the gills and ring are more visible? They look very similar from the cap side to a cluster I found.
I have many specimens dried out but have yet to consume. They bruised in some places a faint green. I left several still growing out of the roots to observe their developmentā¦.

Very nice indeed. Thank you for the additional photos. I do not think they are precisely the same species as those I found in louisiana, but similar. I have yet to consume mine in any way,and have them dried out. Will report when that changes...
Glad you had a euphoric experience with them. Did they last a normal (4-5 hours) length of time compared with other types of psilocybin mushrooms?

a decent dose of mushrooms for me usually lasts around 8hours for me. it didnt seem to last as long as it normally feels like but close. It was really positive and i can see why people call them laughing gyms, it seemed like alot of mushrooms when i was making the tea at the time but i think it would be hard to over do it with these they seem to have an antianxiety element to them. It was something clearly special that you don't get with other genus of active mushrooms
