That's not a wall. Those are posts for a fence. The bottom part is a retaining wall and has been there since they built that house. I've walked by there many times.

I think this is a good move. Putin wants to destabilize NATO, and it's important to show them as well as NATO allies that we will not be walked all over by them. I am glad to see that the GOP, (even if the Trump administration is not) is openly acknowledging that we cannot allow foreign interference of our election...as hypocritical of our country as that is, for our safety and that of NATO and beyond, it's incredibly important that we send a clear message that they cannot undermine our countries process of democracy(or what's left)to be undermined without consequences. Those consequences don't mean combat or war, they mean sanctions, they mean doubling down on the unity between NATO countries.

This is a good move, the problem is that in two weeks if Trump decides that sanctions will be lifted and Russian diplomats allowed back in, we are not gonna suddenly turn into old pals, or countries genuinely working to restore friendly relations - this is sending the message to Putin that he can get away with this, and will be further poised to destabilize the west even further.

LOL that's a good analysis Pirate...i am not going to start patting Russia on the back for being forced to ally with the new US administration against globalist forces (nice call by the way)....just cause, i don't think Russia would hand anything over, including real peace and self-governance, if it didn't have to, just like any other tinhorn nation.

keep your friends close and your enemies even closer, is what i see; but that's really the only difference. i do like your analysis.

I've said this before and am curious as to your opinion on it.  I think that Putin cares most about what's happening with Syria and that his attitude toward Europe has been a response to American attitudes toward Syria.  Especially a few years ago, when Congress was considering taking action against Syrian leadership.

I also think that the Syrian civil war is a direct result of the Arab Spring, which has been shown to have been heavily orchestrated by the US government.

I think that what would make Putin relax, is an attitude toward stabilizing the region.  This could potentially satisfy Turkey and Europe, if we can bring about peace and send the refugees home.
