I've never found P.cubensis satisfying. Its like there is something missing. Even on massive doses they don't give me that familiar spirit thing. I once read someone talking about dark clown energy on P.cubensis. I thought the association was appropriate.
If they were libs I found in Qld they had that helping/familiar spirit thing big time.
P.subaeruginosa a helpful ally with a dominant personality.
Meanies AKA Copelandia cyanescens - What the fuck am I taking these things for? They get me out of it alright. Right down into the underworld. On light doses they are harmless enough. Push them too far and they'll shove back with a nasty vengeful nature. That's on fresh ones. Dried and a big part of that is missing.
Meltdown mushrooms P.cyanofibrillosa or P.cyanescens? I was going to say I don't know but I do. Helpful ally. Sure you have to melt to appreciate them but they give truthful messages in spite of destroying me.
P.pelliculosa? hard to tell because the trip is so light but very clear.
P.tasmaniana have only taken 3g dried max. Beautiful feeling. Best feeling of all so far. Not strong but euphoric. They are the ones I want when it's time to leave this world.
P.alutacea actually have a bit of the fire and brimstone feeling of meanies. They are no where near as strong however. Couple that with a decent dose of euphoria after getting over the agitation of the come up.
P.papuana don't know but from what I've taken they seem to have a helpful teaching nature with lots of lucidity.
P.cinctulus light and airy but I used them mainly mixed with meanies because when they were around there never was enough of either species for a decent trip.
About small dosages I'd say it depends on the species. I didn't like small doses of P.subaeruginosa during when I was taking P.tasmaniana each day. They had a flatness and irritability to them. I agree NothingsChanged that they are better off in a large dosage.
P.alutacea and P.pelliculosa- larger the dose the better because they are a bit mild in effect.
With meanies it depends what the user wants. If they want a good trip I'd say take another species. If a light threshold meanie effect is desired without any nastiness then 2g dried would be okay. Fresh I'd think up to 12-15. They won't show their true nature on those small doses however..

Yeah cheers for the advice!
Just did a scale up of some of the Pan Cyans and bloody hell they don't weigh much!
Think I only just hit the 10gm mark. 3.5-4gs is yeah about 30-40 specimens at average sizes.

Poor meanies I'm so hard on them. Here is some more criticism. Besides losing potency when drying they don't keep well once dried. Their potency diminishes by the month. You need to adjust the dosage as they get older.
We used to make meanie stew or soup. Those 30-40 in their fresh state placed into a soup or stew after adding potatoes and root veggies. They disintegrate to nothing in the boiling water by the time its ready.
Eat it and trip. 40-50 was better per person. The trip would still be very colourful like fresh meanies. Potent too providing ego death for some.
If I left the dried meanies out of the freezer after 6 months they'd have lost most of their potency.
To compliment meanies I have to say they did reveal many truthful things about future events. It's just all the "noise" and "baggage" that went along with the visions and dialogue.

You won't get too much noise and baggage from meanies at 2g dried. Consequently that comfort zone we all relish so much will stay in its place. I'm too old for them now. They had their place at one time though. Ambition is a curse usually passed down from one parent.
We inherit their demons when they die and the cycle continues. Meanies are good for witchcraft but I lost the passion so long ago. Now I'm the fool without a care wandering here and wandering there.
Nice looking gold tops in your 2017 thread Fractal.

Haha yeah I'm a little keen and also worried about how much "fun" I could have if it wanted too!
Cheer mate, I kinda feel like a narcissist when I post every day... But hey... everyone loves a bit of fungiPorn!
Wondering what the blend of 1gm each would do to me... XD
Probs trip balls then dance then potentially get the fear... Hah
I've done DMT on a heroic dose of Subs and then Ketamine... That was fun... Oh and no2 aswell.. which turned my arms into octopus tentacles then fell into a Psychadelic dishwasher state then went to the underworld

They are great pics Fractal, keep posting please. I have nothing to post pic wise.
I've had maenad - I mean meanies goldtop combination. Mainly meanies. The goldtops softened the trip and made it more bearable. Think I have a fixation with the word meanies. Teeny weeny meanies.
NothingsChanged helped to carry on with my rave about guess what. MEENIES. He probably hates the word. I don't. Just their effect. So perhaps it's time to talk more about those effects. Or my effects.
They take away the need for ritual. They provide the direction as clearly as a compass points North. Take enough MEENIES and meet the tyrant. Then there is no turning back because fear is food to elementals.
They are heavy duty. Like I said before it depends what you want out of mushrooms.
I'm editing this to say that I spent most of my Summers in the 1980's eating heavy doses of Copelandia cyanescens. I was strongly influenced by Carlos Castaneda's books at the time. My negative stand on mushrooms may come from his writings. Since his death there has been a lot of controversy about the sources for his writings.
I'm reflecting on what I said about being food for elementals. If I were to eat a massive dose of them now and tried to stay present would I end up in the same place in my mind? Time changes everyones beliefs. Hopefully, because not much is set in stone.

What used to get me most about meanies were their unbelievable smell. Now I'm sounding like I want to take them but when they were fresh they could smell like a sweet fragrant flower. I'd try them again just to experience that.
I did have some good experiences on them. They were just that powerful that it was easy to go over a limit. Now that sounds silly because it varied that much. I just think now that I'd rather talk about them.
Copelandia cyanescens had its place in my life. Maybe it will again. There are no mushrooms around. The rain keeps drying up. Guess because its the middle of Summer might have something to do with it.
Where are those dear little P.tasmaniana. Okay I'm incurable but I'd put P.cubensis and Copelandia cyanescens down the bottom of the list these days.

I always took meanies on my birthday. Which was today incidentally. Today I didn't and felt justified thinking deep down I could leave them alone forever. I have a problem with them. In my heart of hearts I also have the same problem with all mushrooms.
They make great promises they can't keep.
More the fool me for taking that long to UNDER STAND,
See you all around sometime not too soon.

These are growing about 2 feet away from where the biggest patch of P.papuana fruited last year near a log dump. Gills look Psilocybe. They stain black with a hint of blue on the stem where they were joined to one another at the base over the space of one hour.
