White fuzzy and annoying

This white fuzzy looking mold has been giving me issues... Here is some pics of it on a couple plates... Then 3 spawn jars that were noc'd up with a plate that it was on, 4 days after spawning the tub turned green... I can't get it to sporelate, or change color, or die on plates and I don't have a decent microscope... Any idea on what it is?

Trich looks like that before it matures, turns green and sporulates.....so does another mold that people often misidentify as trich, the name isn't coming to mind.

You know what, I have only seen trich sporulate on a sub, never on a plate... I'm about to see if I can find some literature on trichoderma right now, but if you know... What triggers spore production in trich? Is there certain criteria that has to be met to trigger it, or is it like a pinmold that seems to be almost time/size dependant?
Somewhat irrelevant, I'm just trying to find out why whatever this is won't turn green on a plate.

Nothing neede to "trigger" it...it just ends up on plates from time to time cuz of technique, especially if you start from spores. Dont feel bad though, the whole point of agar is to clean things up. A good thread to look at is recognizing and dealing with contamination. If ya cant find it ill link you up when im on my pc

you guys don't need to worry about seeing green on agar plates....its better for green to show up on a plate than in spawn. If we didn't see it on the plate we wouldn't be able to transfer away from it. Even when plates get totally overrun by trich I think better to waste $.10 worth of agar than the time and money I put into making jars of spawn.
Btw OP I have been using my current set of Pasty Plates for the last 6 months or so and I just noticed they have started failing, I'm seeing green on a few plates even after many transfers. In addition to this I notice that the square glad plates like the one pictured above hardly seals at all....I had to throw mine out. I would suggest a new set of plates to put your mind at ease.

I somewhat disagree, for the majority of green molds that hit plates they sporulate green without anything to trigger them. Trichoderma is actually very rare to see on plates. Aspergillus and penicillium and their counterparts have a much higher spore load in the air, so they're the most common on plates and spawn, which really goes to show just how aggressive trich is when it decimates a bulk substrate slightly infected with bacteria
Trichoderma on the other hand sporeulates when exposed to air, or stress. Here's some cool pics of trich on plates:

Note how much more colonized it is before sporulating, sometimes colonizing everything and sporulating when stressed (cut with a knife), also the myc is so fuckin thin it's almost impossible to see it on any substrate before it's too late. so thin and grey I've even seen trich mistaken for cobweb lol
As for the plates.. very disorganized, they're definitely infected with something. The jars and those mycelium fingers also suggest something is going very badly xD

I understand that.I know for a fact it's contaminated, and that it's from the print because it's repeatable with that one print... I'm just trippin' out on how it's not sporelating(sp?) ... Never had a contamination mold NOT show it's colors... This shit dries up and dies alongside the myc and never shows any colors... Even pin molds turn brown or black when they die... This shit is crazy.

You sure it's not just mycelium and you have a bacterial issue?

Could be bacteria riding along... I'm only good for spotting bacteria if it is obvious... Like fucking off the reflectiveness(sp?) Of the agar... It looks hella unorganized though...
