How to promote the spread of psilocybe ovoideocystidiata in wild areas?
    #23984281 - 01/05/17 03:53 PM (7 years, 25 days ago)

During the winter months, I would like to go to areas where these guys would normally grow and do some slight work to help create more ideal environments for growth.

Any ideas?

Furthermore, how do the effects compare to cubensis?

use the search function or google. You're one of many who have asked the same question(s). You may also get better results in the cultivation forum and the psychedelic experience forum respectively.

Not much you can do apart from either spreading a spore solution or, preferably, set out healthy mycelium cultures.

Check this thread for inspiration.

Couldn't I just setup a reasonable environment in which the spores could thrive?

To me a "reasonable environment" sounds like a grow project. Otherwise you could probably just sit and
wait for chance and/or nature to take its turn. I don't know how you should be able to "help" an already
existing patch. Although we know roughly what makes them grow, there are probably many unknown
factors. And, not least, there are numerous competitive species which might as likely as not be the ones
settling in your spot.

60-70F for cyan growth in culture work is my sweet spot. I'd imagine it's the same for grains. Fruiting 45-65F.

OP: Learn agar, learn LC, knock up bags of grains and spawn to wood chips and just keep adding from there. Heads up woodloving mushrooms are a long term project not just some grain jars cased in a monotub.

Thanks Do you think it will grow if I pull the "roots" of the mushroom of and toss it in a bag of damp hardwood chips, than use the chips to spread to some more spots I think that will do good?

I throw my stembutts in a bucket with chips and other things I collect through the season and then go spawn it and start a new patch/patches the next season. It can't hurt..
