There was an incident around here where a guy committed a crime while on methadone and pot.
Prosecuter's: Pot is the culprit here!

Did they test him when he was arrested? No PCP?
Shit gets laced sometimes, rarely. More often people commit crimes under the influence. Not many people say they need to commit a crime and gotta sober up for that.

He admitted to using both mentioned, but don't know if they tested him. It could have been laced ( who even feels like getting up on methadone and pot). They may be too busy sweeping methadone under the rug and focusing more on kratom. Ramen noodles are supposed to be linked to Parkinsons disease, but nobody is banning them right now. Maybe the source was wrong.

Yep. Anything that they can do to keep the big pharma, alcohol, and tobacco companies make money they will do.
I know of a person who sold a SNITCH, whom was caught with meth, sold him 7G of weed, twice. They gave him felonies for possesion of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, and seized his 9000$ car, for 14G of weed.
The fact that this was a junkie that could not stay in jail for a peroid of time, so he had to set up a very low-key pot smoker thinking he was his friend. He was his co-worker, and apparently this meth-fuck setup another weed dealer in town.
Of course, their not going to setup their connect for meth. Moral of the story, stay the fuck out of red states.

What kind of crime did he commit, and are they trying to prevent him from using legal methadone use as a legal excuse for why the crime was committed?

Drugs don't add anything that's not there. He did crime cause he's an asshole.
Assholes wield drugs as an excuse for their behavior, but I spent 3 months fiending for pills and dope to keep from sickness and never once did I steal, even being homeless and unemployed. The biggest retards always snap back the hardest. Catholic girls are prime examples.

Usually the prosecutor tries to show that the accused person is the culprit, no? If anything I'd expect it would be the defense trying to shift the blame to the drugs.

It's amazing how much the justice system has no clue as to what's what.
