Possible chanterelle?
    #23981664 - 01/04/17 02:55 PM (7 years, 1 month ago)

Went out on a hike today in the snow and found these chanterelle looking mushrooms,
I don't really think these are them but they look similar.
They are pale look and small but they are also very frozen.
I haven't had much experience with chanterelles since I was little,
I plan on going hunting for these much more next season.
What do you guys think?

Definitely not. Chanterelles do not have gills. They have ridges that run onto the stem. They are also much meatier. Season in the PNW can start as early as July ime. Especially on the coast. Prime time is usually September. Also note that they will have a mild and pleasant apricot like odor. Once you find one it'll be easy peasy to tell them from other species.

If you're in the Seattle area, you also should start looking in late March, early April. You want the soil to be around 50 degrees. Last year I found chants from Oct through Feb then they started back up in April this year.
