Those are clearly psilocybes but something looks a little off for Allenii.
OP, what sort of substrate did you find these on? If I didn't know that Santa Cruze was the location, I would say these remind me more Ps. Cubensis. Maybe it is just the image quality that is throwing me off.

I had the same thoughts. They look like Cubensis to me aswell. Hopefully OP can tell us what they were growing on.

it's 99% that they're Allenii as Cubensis don't grow in Cali, Buut someone could have grown some outdoors so it is possible to find them there.... I think?

Na, our climate s not right. At least Santa cruzs'.
Maybe farther south that could be a possibility.

Yeah, I think it is just the photo quality that is throwing me off. I see blades of grass in the second image, so maybe they were picked from the dunes? I guess we will never know if we don't hear back from the OP.

found them in a school a few blocks from the beach in woodchip and dirt with fallen leaf cover from a small tree.

i noticed they way significantly more than the cyans i found and the stems are way thicker when they dried and a few turned almost black when they dried.
